Patent number: 8675488Abstract: In general, the invention is directed to techniques for offloading per-subscriber traffic management from an access gateway to one or more upstream service nodes within a service provider network. For example, as described herein, an upstream service node receives a new packet flow for a subscriber and sends packet flow information, such as a network address, to a session and resource controller (SRC). The SRC maintains a table of subscriber attachment sessions and maps the packet flow information to a subscriber attachment session in the table to obtain a subscriber identifier for a subscriber. The SRC then determines subscriber-specific services to be applied to subscriber data traffic, transforms the services to a set of one or more enforcement policies, and returns the enforcement policies to the service node. In turn, the service node applies the enforcement policies for the subscriber-specific services to the subscriber data traffic in the packet flow.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2010Date of Patent: March 18, 2014Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Gregory A. Patent number: 8028326Abstract: A check of a processing device is performed. A device may receive a network access request to access a network from a first processing device. A security check may be caused to be performed on the first processing device. Whether to grant the network access request to the first processing device is based on a result of the security check.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2009Date of Patent: September 27, 2011Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.Inventors: Matthew A. Palmer, Andrew Richard Harding, Jason P. Poirier, Theron Tock

Publication number: 20080319857Abstract: Content resources are managed. A request is received from a user for access to a source of content resources. It is determined that the user is authorized for access to the source. A portal Web page is generated based on a set of content element data applicable to the subscriber. The portal Web page is returned to the user. A system for use in managing content resources has a switch for receiving requests from Web browsers, a content resource management engine in communication with the switch, and a billing system in communication with the content resource management engine.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 2, 2008Publication date: December 25, 2008Applicant: ELLACOYA NETWORKS, INC.Inventors: Kurt A.
