  • Publication number: 20220260704
Abstract: Provided are computer-implemented systems and methods for a device that includes at least one processor programmed or configured to receive one or more messages from a device in an transmit state, the one or more messages comprising a first message received at a first power level, the first message comprising data associated with a power level at which the first message was transmitted by the transmitting device, and a second messages received at a second power level, the second message comprising data associated with a power level at which the second message was transmitted by the transmitting device. The processor is further configured to determine a heading toward the transmitting device based on the first message and the second message; and output data associated with an indication of the heading toward the transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 8807134
Abstract: A patient interface that reliably and comfortably seals a user's face by providing an oral-nasal mask that includes an integrated nasal interface. The patient interface includes a seal member having an oral cushion portion configured to surround the user's mouth and a nasal interface portion that provides an interface with the user's nose. The seal member, including the oral cushion portion and the nasal interface portion, is a unitary member. Finally, the nasal interface portion remains below the bridge of the nose.

  • Patent number: 8596271
Abstract: A patient interface device that includes a support member sized and configured to span at least a portion of a patient's face while remaining below the patient's eyes responsive to the patient interface device being donned by such a patient and a sealing assembly operatively coupled to the support member such that the support member is moveable relative to the support member. The support member defines a gas carrying conduit adapted to carry a flow of gas to the sealing assembly. The support member is a single-piece unitary member and includes a conduit coupling portion adapted to be coupled to a patient circuit.

  • Publication number: 20130284178
Abstract: A patient interface having a forehead support adjustably. The forehead support assembly includes a support arm that is adjustably mounted to the mask shell, thereby allowing the adjustment of the distance between the forehead support bracket and the mask shell in order to adjust for patients of different sizes. A forehead support bracket is pivotally connected to the support arm. The pivoting forehead support bracket is self-aligning to allow the forehead pad to remain parallel to the patient's forehead at all times, thus enhancing comfort and stability. The forehead support bracket is removable from the support arm, allowing the headgear (with support bracket attached) to be donned separately from the mask and support arm. The forehead support bracket in one embodiment has a forehead pad formed from the headgear itself.

  • Publication number: 20120220990
Abstract: A disposable tip (20) having a sheath (30) and which is structured to be used with a medical device is provided. The sheath (30) provides protection for the medical device base unit (10). The sheath (30) is sealingly coupled to the tip (20), preferably at an end of the tip (20), proximal to the base unit (10). In this configuration, the sheath (30) may be extended to substantially enclose and protect the base unit (10) from contamination.

  • Publication number: 20120198715
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a characteristic of a body part, such as an infant's head, includes a flexible substrate, a plurality of sensing elements provided along the substrate, and an electronic system. Each of the sensing elements (i) has a component wherein an electrical characteristic of the component changes predictably in response to the component being bent, and (ii) provides a signal that is indicative of the current value of the electrical characteristic. The electronic system is structured to receive the signal of each sensing element and determine a measure of a degree of curvature of the sensing element based on the received signal. The electronic system is also structured to determine, based one or more of the measures, a representation of a curvature of a segment, such as a loop, defined by a selected one or more of the sensing elements.
