  • Publication number: 20230112871
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed subject matter provide a device having a substrate, and a plurality of unit areas of an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display disposed on the substrate. The unit areas may be repeating, area-filling subdivisions on the substrate that each have an anode and a cathode. The organic film may be disposed over portions of the device other than the unit areas. The device may include at least one pixel having a plurality of sub-pixels disposed within each of the plurality of unit areas. The cathode of at least one pixel of each of the plurality of unit areas may be a common cathode.

  • Patent number: 9865672
Abstract: Techniques to fabricate and assemble a lighting system including multiple patterned OLED lighting panels to form a high-resolution macro image are provided. An image to be displayed is determined and divided into multiple portions. Patterned static OLED lighting panels that display each portion of the image are fabricated and assembled into a fixture to form a macro-image lighting system. The fixture may removably receive and hold individual panels, such that each panel may be replaced if any malfunction occurs. Each of the patterned OLED panels may be individually driven through an electrical connection within the fixture so as to be operated at substantially the same brightness and/or same chromaticity.
