  • Publication number: 20160314104
Abstract: According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for extracting text from unstructured documents. The method includes creating a spatial index for storing information about words on a page of a document to be analyzed; using the spatial index to detect white space that indicates boundaries of columns within the page, aggregate words into lines, identify lines that are part of a header or footer of the page, and identify lines that are part of a table or a figures within the page; and joining lines together to generate continuous text flows. In one embodiment, the continuous text is divided into sections. In one embodiment, references within the document are identified. In one embodiment, inline citations within the document body are replaced with the corresponding reference information, or portions thereof.

  • Publication number: 20160311273
Abstract: A tire pressure monitor system allows for customized configurations and a variety of intelligent alerts to increase usability and reliability over existing tire pressure monitor systems. A central receiver determines the alerts, rather than individual receivers, so that the tires can be monitored as a system rather than as individual tires. For instance, a Cross-Axle Alert is triggered when the pressure in a tire on one side of an axle is significantly greater than the pressure in a tire on an opposite side of the axle. Additional features include the use of Dynamic Reference Pressures, as opposed to static reference pressures, so that the alert parameters can be adjusted according to the current driving conditions. A robust user interface provides a user with a variety of views and screens and enables an administrator to adjust alert parameters while preventing a driver from adjusting the same parameters.

  • Patent number: 9420250
Abstract: A method for performing video analytics comprises capturing video data using a video source disposed at an acquisition end. The captured video data is stored at the acquisition end, and non-adjacent single frames of the captured video data are transmitted from the acquisition end to a server via an IP network. The non-adjacent single frames of captured video data are transmitted one at a time at known time intervals, or a burst of a plurality of non-adjacent single frames is transmitted at another known time interval. At the server, video analytics is performed on a current one of the non-adjacent single frames for detecting an actionable event relative to a previous one of the non-adjacent single frames. In response to detecting an actionable event, a signal for requesting previously stored video data captured between the current one of the non-adjacent single frames and the previous one of the non-adjacent single frames is transmitted to the acquisition end via the IP network.

  • Publication number: 20160175837
Abstract: A storage cassette, including: a housing having a substantially hollow interior to receive a biospecimen container via a housing opening; a cover for closing the housing opening; a lock mechanism to be moved between a locked position in which the cover is maintained in a closed position and an unlocked position in which the cover can be moved to an open position; and a latch mechanism which, when the storage cassette is inserted into a rack, prevents inadvertent removal of the storage cassette from the rack. A rack, including a plurality of stacked rack elements, each rack element including an interlocking mechanism for securing adjacent rack elements, wherein each rack element is adapted to receive a storage cassette or each rack element includes a housing having a substantially hollow interior to receive a biospecimen container via a housing opening and a cover for closing the housing opening.

  • Publication number: 20160166371
Abstract: Endoluminal filters are disclosed including a first support member and a second support member forming a crossover with the first support member fixed to the second support member. The endoluminal filters also include a material capture structure extending between the first and second support members, the crossover, and the first end or the second end of the first support member. Endoluminal filters are disclosed in some embodiments that include a support frame forming a first loop and a second loop where the walls of the support frame do not cross over each other. The endoluminal filters also include a material capture structure extending between the first loop or second loop. Methods for making the endoluminal filters are disclosed, such as 3D printing and laser cutting tubular or flat materials. Methods for deploying the endoluminal filters are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9369457
Abstract: Features are disclosed for authentication of mobile device applications using a native, independent browser using a single-sign-on system. An authentication module within the mobile application can direct the mobile device's native browser to a URL to initiate authentication with an authentication appliance. The mobile browser can receive and store a browser-accessible token to indicate previous authentication performed by the user. The mobile application can receive from the application appliance and store a client application ID token that may be presented to network services for access. A second mobile device application may direct the same browser to the authentication appliance. The authentication appliance may inspect the persistent browser-accessible token and issue a second client application ID identity to the second application without collecting additional authentication information, or collecting additional authentication information that is different from the first authentication information.

  • Publication number: 20150360006
Abstract: A medical device includes a polymer scaffold crimped to a catheter having an expansion balloon. A sheath pair is placed over the crimped scaffold after crimping to reduce recoil of the crimped polymer scaffold and maintain scaffold-balloon engagement relied on to hold the scaffold to the balloon when the scaffold is being delivered to a target in a body. The sheath pair is removed by a health professional before placing the scaffold within the body.

  • Patent number: 9143739
Abstract: A method for providing video data for video analytics processing includes capturing a plurality of individual frames of video data, using a video source that is disposed at an acquisition end. A plurality of data-frame-groups is formed, each data-frame-group being associated with a different time period of a plurality of consecutive and non-overlapping time periods. A data-frame-group that is associated with a specific time period comprises individual frames of video data that are captured during that specific time period. Additionally, each data-frame-group comprises relatively fewer individual frames of video data than are captured during the specific time period associated therewith. The plurality of data-frame-groups is transmitted from the acquisition end to a remotely located server via an IP network. In particular, the transmission of successive data-frame-groups is separated one from the other by an interval of time.

  • Publication number: 20150154840
Abstract: Video data relating to a field of view is captured by a video camera. The captured video data is provided to a cloud-based processor via a communication network and is processed. thereon according to a video analytics process to detect an actionable event within the captured video data and, in response to a detected actionable event, an alert signal relating is transmitted to an electronic communication device that is associated with a user. Based on the alert signal an alert message is displayed via a display portion of the electronic communication device and a user interface is provided in association with the displaying of the alert message supporting selection by the user of a video-display device. A user input indicative of selection of the video display device is received via the user interface. The captured video data is then displayed in the human intelligible form on the video display device.
