    Abstract: A safety shut-off having a spring loaded ball which moves into engagement with a valve seat in response to excess gas flow. Engagement of the ball with the valve seat shuts off gas flow. Excessive gas flow is generally encountered when a catastrophic breakage downstream of the valve causes the downstream pressure to drop precipitously.
