  • Patent number: 7311880
Abstract: The present invention provides a well-less filtration device that includes a pre-filter layer; a support layer; and at least one layer of solid phase extraction medium disposed between the pre-filter layer and the support layer. At least a portion of the pre-filter layer, support layer and solid phase extraction medium are ultrasonically welded together to form a pattern of filter cells and land areas with the land areas being disposed between the filter cells. The filter cells of the device may be arranged to conform to a standardized array format.

Date of Patent: December 25, 2007
    Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties Company
Inventors: Craig A. Perman, Jason R. Jacobson
  • Publication number: 20030226796
Abstract: The present invention provides a modular system for separating components of a liquid sample. The system includes arrays of units that may be assembled in series to perform multiple separations on a liquid sample in a single step. Also, the modular nature of the system permits a device according to the present invention to be designed to perform different separation schemes on one or more liquid samples within a single device.

  • Patent number: 6492183
Abstract: This invention provides a one-piece multilayer article for use in solid phase extraction that includes at least two porous support layers and a solid phase extraction medium, wherein the porous support layers are thermo-mechanically attached at at least one thermo-mechanical attachment site. At least one of the porous support layers can be a prefilter layer.

  • Patent number: 5788346
Abstract: A plurality of stand forming members adapted to be assembled in different configurations, including (1) a top member including a top wall that can be adapted to support a monitor and has a peripheral wall projecting away from its bottom surface; (2) a plurality of generally U shaped intermediate members each having an upper surface adapted to either support the peripheral wall of the top member or the lower surface on a different one of the intermediate members; (3) a drawer member for insertion in each of the intermediate members; and (4) a base member adapted to be supported and to support the lower surface of the lowest one of the intermediate members.

  • Patent number: 5584535
Abstract: A footrest to be supported on a floor for which the height of the footrest from the floor and the angle of a foot support surface on the footrest with respect to the floor are independently adjustable. Projections on one portion of the footrest are movable in slots in another between spaced retaining portions in which the projections are frictionally retained to change the height of the footrest; and a platform defining the foot support surface is pivotable against the restraint of a friction clutch to change its angle with respect to the floor.
