    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to apparatus and methods for connecting continuous sucker rods. Ends of two work pieces may be prepared by reducing cross sections of the ends. The two work pieces may be welded together by establishing a planar contact at the prepared ends and applying a current across the two work pieces while moving the work pieces relative to each other.
