Publication number: 20250124734Abstract: Interactions with virtual systems may be difficult when users inadvertently fail to provide sufficient information to proceed with their requests. Certain types of inputs, such as auditory inputs, may lack sufficient information to properly provide a response to the user. Additional information, such as image data, may enable user gestures or poses to supplement the auditory inputs to enable response generation without requesting additional information from users.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2024Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Sakthivel Sivaraman, Nishant Puri, Yuzhuo Ren, Atousa Torabi, Shubhadeep Das, Niranjan Avadhanam, Sumit Kumar Bhattacharya, Jason Roche

Publication number: 20210347328Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for implementation of a vehicle command operation system that may use multi-modal technology to authenticate an occupant of the vehicle to authorize a command and receive natural language commands for vehicular operations. The system may utilize sensors to receive data indicative of a voice command from an occupant of the vehicle. The system may receive second sensor data to aid in the determination of the corresponding vehicular operation in response to the received command. The system may retrieve authentication data for the occupants of the vehicle. The system authenticates the occupant to authorize a vehicular operation command using a neural network based on at least one of the first sensor data, the second sensor data, and the authentication data. Responsive to the authentication, the system may authorize the operation to be performed in the vehicle based on the vehicular operation command.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2020Publication date: November 11, 2021Inventors: Sumit Bhattacharya, Jason Roche, Niranjan Avadhanam

Publication number: 20210334565Abstract: In various examples, systems and methods are disclosed herein for a vehicle command operation system that may use technology across multiple modalities to cause vehicular operations to be performed in response to determining a focal point based on a gaze of an occupant. The system may utilize sensors to receive first data indicative of an eye gaze of an occupant of the vehicle. The system may utilize sensors to receive second data indicative of other data from the occupant. The system may then calculate a gaze vector based on the data indicative of the eye gaze of the occupant. The system may determine a focal point based on the gaze vector. In response to determining the focal point, the system causes an operation to be performed in the vehicle based on the second data.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2020Publication date: October 28, 2021Inventors: Jason Roche, Niranjan Avadhanam

Patent number: 9681865Abstract: A surgical device includes a member having first and second opposing surfaces. The member includes an intermediate portion in which the first surface has a recessed surface portion. The intermediate portion defines a hole extending from the recessed surface portion to the second surface. End portions extend from the intermediate portion, and each end portion defines a hole extending from the first surface to the second surface. The member has a tapered surface portion on the second surface. The surgical device includes a second member sized to be received within the recessed surface portion. A method includes locating a tissue fixation device at an opening to a bone hole, and increasing the size of the tissue fixation device by placing the tissue fixation device within a larger device.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2015Date of Patent: June 20, 2017Assignee: Smith & Nephew, Inc.Inventors: Jason Roch Lebeau, John Mahoney

Patent number: 9549769Abstract: An instrument includes a flexible shaft portion and a hook portion. The flexible shaft portion has a proximal end and a distal end and includes markings along an outer surface of the shaft portion. The hook portion is located at the distal end of the shaft portion. The shaft portion and the hook portion define a lumen that terminates in an opening at the hook portion.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2014Date of Patent: January 24, 2017Assignee: Smith & Nephew, Inc.Inventors: Jason Roch LeBeau, Carmel Ilka Bijoux, Steven Mark Bowman

Publication number: 20140201339Abstract: A method and apparatus for conditioning communication network data relating to a distribution of network entities across a space, for subsequent processing of the network data, is disclosed. The method comprises dividing the space into a grid comprising a plurality of discrete cells, so that each cell comprises a unique location within the space. The network data relating to each entity is subsequently processed using a processor to assign the network entity to a cell in dependence of the location of the entity within the space, relative to the cells. Following the discretisation of network entities to a particular cell, the number of entities within the cells is determined. The number of entities associated with the cells is then separately compared with the number of entities within each cell of a respective cell distribution using the processor, to determine the cell maxima of each distribution which comprises the most entities.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2011Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Perikles Rammos, Yangcheng Huang, Jason Roche
