Publication number: 20230254182Abstract: There is provided a system that comprises an IP-routed interregional distribution network, and a user-network interface (UNI) that employs (a) a first virtual broadcast domain (VBD), (b) a second VBD, (c) a virtual extensible local area network (VXLAN), and (d) a protocol transformation stack. The UNI is adapted for layer 2 connection to a user device via the first VBD, and adapted for layer 3 communication over the IP-routed interregional distribution network via the VXLAN. The protocol transformation stack is adapted to convert a layer 2 broadcast domain to/from an IP-routable form by mapping the first VBD to the second VBD, and encapsulating the second VBD into the VXLAN.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2023Publication date: August 10, 2023Applicant: UNDERLINE TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Jason S. Patent number: 8997145Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses enabling brand detection in audiovisual media. The techniques detect a brand exposed within audiovisual media, such as a name or logo for a product or service, and based on this brand, present a brand advertisement or enable selection of an interactive experience that is associated with the brand. By so doing, marketers enable viewers to quickly and easily learn more about the product or service.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2014Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Praveen Kumar Vemparala, Michael G. Patent number: 7403206Abstract: Validating a color that is selected in an authoring environment for display in a destination media environment includes selecting a color for an application, converting the values of the color to those in a fundamental color space, and converting the values from the fundamental color space to those in a color space corresponding to the destination media environment. Validity of the selected color in the destination media environment depends on the component values in the destination media environment being within an acceptable range of values.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2005Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Min Liu, Regis J. Crinon, Jason S. White, Charles Finkelstein, Michael D Stokes

Publication number: 20040030715Abstract: A database including a first graphical user interface adapted to create and store data objects, and a second graphical user interface adapted to define and store bidirectional text describing relations between related data objects. A third graphical user interface is adapted to view the data objects. Preferably, the third graphical is adapted to identify related data objects and display relevant parts of the bidirectional text with respect to related data objects in conjunction with visual indicia representing the related data objects.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2003Publication date: February 12, 2004Inventors: Jason S. White, Rebecca L. Hall, Harold H. Engstrom

Patent number: 6618733Abstract: A method (and corresponding database system) for displaying in a view window information characterizing semantics of relations between objects. For each given relation between at least one subject object and at least one direct object, bi-directional modifier data is stored that represents first text characterizing semantics of a relationship of the at least one first object to the at least one second object, and represents second text characterizing semantics of a relationship of the at least one second object to the at least one first object. In response to predetermined user input associated with an object node displayed in the view window, a set of relations whose at least one subject object or at least one direct object is associated with the object node is identified.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Revelink Inc.Inventors: Jason S. White, Rebecca L. Hall, Harold H. Engstrom

Patent number: 6618732Abstract: An improved command handler (and database system utilizing the improved command handler) interfaces to a datastore storing item data for a plurality of items and bi-directional modifier data, corresponding to a relation between at least one first item and at least one second item, that represents first text characterizing semantics of a relationship of the at least one first item to the at least one second item, and represents second text characterizing semantics of a relationship of the at least one second item to the at least one first item. The command handler operates, in response to receiving a first-type query command that specifies at least one given item, to access the datastore to identify i) at least one related item that is related to the given item, and identify ii) either the first text or the second text characterizing semantics of the relation between the given item and the at least one related item.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Revelink, Inc.Inventors: Jason S. White, Rebecca L. Hall, Harold H. Engstrom

Patent number: 6609132Abstract: A method and system for displaying information characterizing the semantics of relations between objects. For each given relation between at least one subject object and at least one direct object, bi-directional modifier data is stored in a separate table and characterizes the semantics of a relationship between objects of different type. A bi-directional modifier is stored in distinct tables and comprises arbitrary text strings defined by user input. Test is linked to a relation between at two different object types and represents text. The present invention may be used in a wide assortment of software applications, including enterprise applications.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2000Date of Patent: August 19, 2003Assignee: Revelink, Inc.Inventors: Jason S. White, Rebecca L. Hall, Harold H. Engstrom
