  • Publication number: 20250018300
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein may provide a system that enables game play or other application sessions from a set of candidate game hosts and environments to consumption devices of a user's choice while the user moves about their home between the different environments. The system may employ methods to determine where a user is located within the home, availability and selection of candidate game hosting and target environments, homing and direction of related I/O and audio-visual (AV) content for consumption. The solution accommodates multiple users simultaneously within the home, whether in single player, multiplayer using the same screen, or multiplayer using separate screen games. The solution may configure AV and input/output (I/O) such that multiple users can consume one or multiple games in the home simultaneously, whether in separate locations or when seated together in front of the same consumption device.

  • Patent number: 12083417
Abstract: A single user input element can be used in four different modes including a first mode in which the user input element mimics a single button by restricting input along multiple axes, a second mode in which the user input element restricts input to a first axis, a third mode in which the user input element restricts input to a second axis, and a fourth mode in which the user has no restrictions to user input. A rotational cam may be used to interact with shuttle pins that control the height of a surface (e.g., an up/down position) of the plurality of fill spacers to change a look and/or feel of the user input element. A rotational structure which has lockout tabs to prevent individual rotational axis from being rotated depending on the configuration of the input device. These aspects may provide a reconfigurable direction pad for a game controller.

  • Publication number: 20240258725
Abstract: Toolless Compression Attached Memory Module (CAMM) installation systems and methods employ a bolster plate with a generally flat, parallelepiped body portion configured to contact one surface of a CAMM Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and provide compression between the CAMM and a z-axis compression connector. The bolster plate body defines (a) ramped keyhole(s), each ramped keyhole converts lateral displacement of the bolster plate into vertical displacement, providing the compression between the CAMM and the z-axis compression connector, by the ramped keyhole(s) sliding along (a) bottom face(s) of (a) head(s) of (a) fixed standoff(s) extending from an information handling system (IHS) PCB, through the z-axis compression connector and the CAMM PCB. The bolster plate may lock in place, laterally displaced, to maintain the compression between the CAMM and the z-axis compression connector. The bolster plate may also have a flange portion extending generally perpendicular from the body portion.

  • Publication number: 20240241995
Abstract: Methods and systems for securing data processing systems are disclosed. A data processing system may be operably connected to other devices via ports. When operably connected, some devices connected via the ports may cause undesired actions to be performed. To limit physical access to the ports, a security apparatus may be used to lock the ports. The security apparatus may transition between states where it may be inserted into openings for the ports and may be locked to the openings for the ports. When so locked, physical access to the ports may be limited.
