Abstract: The embodiments herein are directed to collecting information from multiple sources about platform capabilities and evaluating the platform capabilities of at least a requesting computer system and a server. A portal can automatically and dynamically select a proper client/application to handle communication based on availability, connectivity and more characteristics and provide a communication recommendation when requesting a function. Logic in the portal allows the portal to determine how best to set up execution of the function. The portal logic can essentially evaluate all of the options available and then choose the best option.

In particular, when a single and/or multiple service errors are present, a user interface of the communication device can provide a dynamic exceptions view for simple management and control of the one or more service errors received. Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting a single invitation to join a communication directed to a multimodal endpoint are provided. More particularly, a communication directed to a multimodal endpoint is delivered to the multimodal endpoint using only a single communication network at a time. A communication server handling an incoming communication directed to the multimodal endpoint first attempts to initiate a communication session using a first, preferred communication network. If the communication is completed or is responded to by the multimodal endpoint using the first network, an attempt to complete the communication using a second network is not initiated. Alternatively, if the first communication network is not available to deliver the communication to the multimodal endpoint, an attempt to complete the communication using the second communication network is initiated.

Abstract: The middleware presented herein maps a plurality of application user interfaces to a single user experience (i.e. user interface) so that a user is more comfortable with how information is presented. The middleware maps key elements of an original user interface into a standard user interface on a user's device. When a user interface is mapped, information or data is taken from the original user interface and is reconfigured to create the standard user interface displayed to the user. In embodiments, the middleware receives data associated with a user interface for an application, interprets the received data, parses the data, translates the parsed data by determining the correct template map and mapping the parsed data to a standard user interface, and configures the standard user interface with the translated data.

Abstract: An endpoint adaptor and methods of operating the same are provided. The endpoint adaptor provides a single persistent view of a mobile communication device to a network and network-based applications. Moreover, a mobile application on the communication device can leverage the full capabilities of the device without passing any of the complexities associated therewith beyond a network agent acting on behalf of the mobile application.
