  • Publication number: 20190358438
Abstract: A fluid removal device is provided for removing fluid from pleural space that includes a flexible, open tube with a slight resting curve. A first channel along a greater curvature of the tube contains a plurality of cannulas that can be extended into the pleural space to infuse medications. A second channel along a lesser curvature of the tube contains a line attached to the outer portion of the tube and tension placed on the line will increase the curve of the tube to assist in the placement of the tip of the tube in a desired location in the pleural space. The tube may be connected to a portable suction/fusion device via a click connect device. The tube may also include an improved tip and a tab for extending the cannulas maintains the corridor of stability.

  • Patent number: 9839999
Abstract: An embedded element pulling apparatus, the apparatus comprises a pair of linear guides separated by a width, each linear guide having a length and an inner guide surface, the inner guide surface angled to form a closing ramp at the grasping end. A jaw is paired with each linear guide; each jaw is engaged to follow along the inner guide surface. Each jaw may have an interchangeable grasping tooth. A lock assembly is integrated to lock and unlock the jaws. A carriage cooperatively couples the jaws and the lock assembly. A positioning actuator engages with the carriage to position the jaws along the length of the linear guides and a drive actuator engages with the carriage to close the jaws, pull the embedded element, and open the jaws. A motive device may drive the positioning actuator and drive actuator.

  • Publication number: 20140264204
Abstract: The present application is directed to an exposed headed-element pulling apparatus for pulling exposed headed-elements such as double headed nails from embedding material. The apparatus comprises a hooking element having a blow nozzle. The hooking element is connected to a linear actuator. A spacer element is integrated with the linear actuator to provide an opposing force against the embedding material when pulling the embedded exposed-headed element. Exposed headed-elements are pulled by the apparatus and then ejected by the blow nozzle through an ejection slot in the spacer element. Pulled headed-element can be collected in an attached bag for reuse. An optional rotation mechanism may be incorporated for more ergonomic pulling capabilities.
