Patent number: 10538232Abstract: The present invention relates to a vehicle recovery system (1) for a vehicle having at least one driven wheel. The vehicle recovery system (1) is operable to self-recover the vehicle from terrain having a deformable surface affording insufficient traction at the at least one driven wheel to mobilise the vehicle. A recovery controller (2) is provided to maintain at least substantially continuous rotation of said at least one driven wheel at a target recovery speed or within a target recovery speed range to increase the available traction at each driven wheel. The present invention also relates to a vehicle having a vehicle recovery system (1).Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2013Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: JAGUAR LAND ROVER LIMITEDInventors: Steve Liggins, Paul Darnell, Jason Walters

Patent number: 10239373Abstract: A structural component 1 is provided for a vehicle designed for driving off-road on rough terrain. The component 1, such as the lower control arm of a suspension system, is formed from aluminum, aluminum-alloy or other light-weight material and provided on its underside with a parallel arrangement of chamfered ribs 5 which extend in the direction of travel of the vehicle. The spacing between adjacent ribs 5 is less than or equal to 10 mm so as to prevent underlying rocks and stones 7 from impacting, and thereby abrading the inner surface 3 of the component 1. The ribs 5 are provided as sacrificial elements and will become eroded in use until they no longer provide the desired protection of the inner surface 3. The extent of abrasion of the ribs 5 can be ascertained by a visual inspection of the underlying surface of the vehicle, and, if necessary, the component 1 can be replaced.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2012Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: JAGUAR LAND ROVER LIMITEDInventors: Edd Hugo, James Pinkerton, Jason Walters, Julian Buckingham

Publication number: 20180340991Abstract: High Q-value radio frequency (RF] coils are described. In general, the RF coils include multiple conductor layers that at least partially overlap to define a capacitive region that equalizes current flowing in each conductor. In some instances, the RF coil includes sets of layered conductors, where each set of layered conductors overlaps in an overlap region. In some other instances, the RF coil includes a spiraled conductor coupled to a dielectric material, where the number of turns of the spiral defines the overlap area. Multiple spiraled conductors can be interleaved. An equalization coil can also be provided to equalize currents along an axial dimension of each conductor in such RF coils. The thickness of the conductors is less than three skin depths, and preferably less than one skin depth, to overcome skin-depth limitations.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2015Publication date: November 29, 2018Inventors: Richard Raymond Mett, James Stuart Hyde, Jason Walter Sidabras

Publication number: 20180287794Abstract: An identity provider IP service provides an optimized sign out experience for a user accessing a single account service. The IP service designates a first account of a service as signed in based on first credentials provided by a user. The IP service provides a first security token for the first account to the service. Upon receiving a first sign out notification, the IP service determines whether the user wants to switch to a second account of the service. Upon determining that the user wants to switch to the second account, the IP service designates the second account as signed in based on second credentials provided by the user, provides a second security token for the second account to the service, and designates the first account as soft signed out so that the user can switch to the first account without re-providing the first credentials.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2017Publication date: October 4, 2018Inventors: Ariel Gordon, John H. Forrest, Jason Walter

Patent number: 10091150Abstract: Techniques involving identification of electronic messages that are the first contact between the sender identification and addressed recipients. One representative technique includes identifying electronic messages originating from a sender that are first contact electronic messages between the sender and targeted recipients. The sender of the electronic messages may be designated as a source of unsolicited messages if heuristics involving the first contact electronic messages indicate a distribution of unsolicited messages by the sender.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2016Date of Patent: October 2, 2018Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Krishna Vitaldevara, Jason Walter, Vasantha K. Patent number: 9734923Abstract: A nuclear fuel assembly grid that has fuel rod support features that take up a substantial portion of the width of the corner fuel rod support cells. The nuclear fuel assembly grid has an outer strap that is joined around a corner of the grid to another outer strap segment and a mating inner strap end at the intersection with the inner strap. The juncture accommodates the width of the rod support feature, enables grid-to-grid anti-snag capabilities and facilitates the use of longitudinal feed materials and dies.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2013Date of Patent: August 15, 2017Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Company LLCInventor: Jason A. Walters

Patent number: 9664066Abstract: A retaining clip for use in limiting radial movement between a first section and a second section of a split fairing is provided. The first section includes a first clip tab and the second section includes a second clip tab extending therefrom, wherein the first and second clip tabs form a slot when the first section and the second section are substantially aligned. The retaining clip includes a first portion sized for insertion into the slot, a third portion coupled to the first and second clip tabs such that the first and second clip tabs are positioned between the first portion and the third portion, and a second portion extending between the first portion and the third portion.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2013Date of Patent: May 30, 2017Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Eric Ryan Deane, Jason Walter Issertell

Publication number: 20160031287Abstract: The present invention relates to a control system (49) for controlling a target ride height of a vehicle (1). The control system (49) is configured to set s target off-road ride height (hOFF) in dependence on one or more vehicle operating parameters. The target off-road ride height (hOFF) is set upon receipt of a driving mode signal signaling that an off-road driving made has been selected. Aspects of the present invention also relate to a vehicle and a method of controlling a target ride height of a vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2014Publication date: February 4, 2016Inventors: Philip GUEST, Jason WALTERS, Sam ANKER, Edward NICHOLSON
