Patent number: 11185473Abstract: A tablet counting apparatus and method and an associated control device are provided to ensure that the same type of tablets is transferred from a canister to a counter following the replacement of one canister with another. In addition to the counter and the replaceable canister, the tablet counting apparatus includes a gate that moves between closed and open positions. The tablet counting apparatus further includes a controller configured, following installation of the canister, to provide an authorization command to authorize the gate to be opened by being moved from the closed position to the open position. The tablet counting apparatus additionally includes a timer responsive to the authorization command. The controller is also configured to be responsive to the timer so as no longer provide the authorization command following expiration of the timer to prevent the gate from being subsequently opened if the gate has not already been opened.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2020Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: McKESSON CORPORATIONInventor: Jason Warner

Patent number: 7188064Abstract: A system and method for coding text data wherein a first group of text data is coded using a Viterbi algorithm using a Hidden Markov model. The Hidden Markov Model computes a probable coding responsive to the first group of text data. A second group of text data is coded using the Viterbi algorithm using a corrected Hidden Markov Model. The Hidden Markov Model is based upon the coding of the first group of text data. Coding the first group of text data includes assigning word concepts to groups of at least one word in the first group of text data and assigning propositions to groups of the assigned word concepts.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2002Date of Patent: March 6, 2007Assignee: University of Texas System Board of RegentsInventors: Richard M. Patent number: 5901460Abstract: An automatic system for drying high moisture content material from a source. The system includes a dryer enclosing a bed inclined upwards from the bottom portion thereof to the top portion thereof, and a slat and picker drive motor for urging material downward from the top portion to the bottom portion of the bed. A first material feed system transports the high moisture content material from the source to the top portion of the bed, and includes a surge bin disposed between the source and the dryer for assuring a constant supply of material to the dryer for constant operation thereof. There are sensors for detecting the amount of material delivered to the surge bin; and a controller, responsive to the sensors, which adjusts the rate of material transferred from the surge bin to the dryer and the rate material is processed through the dryer.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1996Date of Patent: May 11, 1999Assignee: Kessel/Duff CorporationInventors: Brad J. Carter, Robert A. Caughey, deceased, by Jason Warner, legal representative
