    Abstract: A method of controlling an electromechanical brake system. The method comprises measuring a voltage of a motor, measuring a current of the motor, and estimating a position of a component of the electromechanical brake system based on the voltage and the current. The method comprises estimating a force imposed by the component based on the voltage and the current, and estimating a hydraulic pressure associated with a hydraulic brake system. In an apply operation, the force of the component is corrected based on the hydraulic pressure. In a release operation, the position of the component is corrected based on the hydraulic pressure.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for vector-quantized image modeling using vision transformers and improved codebook handling. In particular, the present disclosure provides a Vector-quantized Image Modeling (VIM) approach that involves pretraining a machine learning model (e.g., Transformer model) to predict rasterized image tokens autoregressively. The discrete image tokens can be encoded from a learned Vision-Transformer-based VQGAN (example implementations of which can be referred to as ViT-VQGAN). The present disclosure proposes multiple improvements over vanilla VQGAN from architecture to codebook learning, yielding better efficiency and reconstruction fidelity. The improved ViT-VQGAN further improves vector-quantized image modeling tasks, including unconditional image generation, conditioned image generation (e.g., class-conditioned image generation), and unsupervised representation learning.

The article also exhibits an average photopic transmittance of greater than 80% and a maximum hardness of greater than 10 GPa, as measured by a Berkovich Hardness Test over an indentation depth range from about 100 nm to about 500 nm. The glass-ceramic substrate comprises an elastic modulus of greater than 85 GPa and a fracture toughness of greater than 0.8 MPa·?m. Further, the optical film structure exhibits a residual compressive stress of ?700 MPa and an elastic modulus of ?140 GPa.

    Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and methods of monitoring and reducing snore are discussed herein. Some embodiments may provide for a system including a snore detection module, a movement detection module, a control module, and an actuation module. The snore detection module may be configured to detect snore, such as by detecting vibrations caused by snoring. When snoring is detected, the control module may be configured to instruct the actuation module to apply stimulation to the user that is calibrated to cause the user to shift sleeping position without disturbing sleep. The movement detection module may be configured to monitor user movement. If the user fails to move in response to the actuation, the actuation module may increase the intensity of the actuation. If the user responds to the actuation, the process may be repeated after a predetermined delay to provide continuous snore monitoring and correction throughout user sleep.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a wafer scale process for the manufacture of optical waveguide devices, and particularly for the manufacture of ridge waveguide devices, and the improved waveguides made thereby. The present invention has found a process for achieving sub-micron control of an optical waveguiding layer thickness by providing a dimensionally stable wafer assembly into which adhesive can be introduced without altering the planar relationship between a carrier wafer and an optically transmissive wafer in wafer scale manufacture. This process permits wafer scale manufacture of optical waveguide devices including thin optically transmissive layers. A pattern of spacer pedestals is created by a deposition and etch back, or by a surface etch process to precisely reference surface information from a master surface to a carrier wafer to a thin optically transmissive wafer. The tolerance achievable in accordance with this process provides consistent yield across the wafer.
