  • Patent number: 11332020
Abstract: The invention provides in some aspects a transport system comprising a guideway with a plurality of propulsion coils disposed along a region in which one or more vehicles are to be propelled. One or more vehicles are disposed on the guideway, each including a magnetic flux source. The guideway has one or more running surfaces that support the vehicles and along which they roll or slide. Each vehicle can have a septum portion of narrowed cross-section that is coupled to one or more body portions of the vehicle. The guideway includes a diverge region that has a flipper and an extension of the running surface at a vertex of the diverge. The flipper initiates switching of vehicle direction at a diverge by exerting a laterally directed force thereon. The extension continues switching of vehicle direction at the diverge by contacting the septum. Still other aspects of the invention provide a transport system, e.g.

  • Patent number: 11091320
Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide a transport system powered by short block Linear Synchronous Motors (LSMs). The use of short blocks allows vehicles to move under precise control even when they are in close proximity to each other. The design allows the vehicles to be propelled and guided while negotiating sharp turns and negotiating merge and diverge switches. A coreless LSM can be used to create propulsive force without attractive force so as to allow a relatively high drag vehicle suspension, such as a vehicle sliding on a smooth surface.

  • Patent number: 10979375
Abstract: A messaging system communicates animated messages. The system generates personalized avatars of messaging participants. These avatars can be made to represent visible attributes of the participants in different art styles. For example, a tall, thin, bespectacled, brunette might be represented as a tall, thin, bespectacled, brunette avatar rendered in the style of a favorite cartoon. Messaging participants can then send messages in which the avatars of the sender and the recipient or recipients interact. For example, a message sender might convey a message “hug” that is displayed on a message recipient's device as an animation in which the sender's avatar embraces the recipient's avatar.

  • Patent number: 10745263
Abstract: A liquid container refill management system including a machine learning algorithm and method of training the same, the system and method making use of noninvasive tank-in-tank measuring techniques. The system can comprise of a container fill level indicator. The container fill level indicator can be capable of detecting a vibration response signal on the outer surface of a container, wherein the system is capable of transmitting the response signal to a remote data processor for processing using a trained machine learning algorithm. The trained machine learning algorithm can be trained by the process of selecting model inputs and outputs to define an internal structure of the machine learning algorithm, applying a collection of input and output data samples to train the machine learning algorithm, and verifying the accuracy of the machine learning algorithm by applying input data samples and comparing received output values with expected output values.
