  • Patent number: 10644759
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile communication system. The mobile communication system includes a first base station configured to transmit at least part of a first data set of data segments arranged in a first sequence to a user terminal, and a second base station configured to transmit at least part of the first data set of data segments arranged in a second sequence to the user terminal, the second sequence of the first data set being an inverse of the first sequence of the first data set. The invention also relates to a coordination component, base station and user terminal for use in this system and to a method of arranging data segments in sequences performed by the coordination component. The invention further relates to a method of transmitting an acknowledgement, performed by the base station or by the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 10219118
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a transmission node and a method for wirelessly providing a number of data packets to a plurality of receivers in a cell of a transmission node of a cellular telecommunications system. The method comprises the steps of storing a number of network coded data packets at the transmission node and cyclically transmitting the stored network coded data packets from the transmission node to the plurality of receivers. The number of transmitted network coded data packets in a cycle is at least equal to the number of data packets to be provided to each receiver of the plurality of receivers and each network coded data packet is a linear combination of two or more data packets to be provided to each receiver.

  • Publication number: 20190045333
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a transmission node and method for multicasting a plurality of original data packets to a plurality of receivers in a cell of a cellular communications system. The method comprises the step of multicasting a set of original data packets and a single network coded data packet associated with the set of original data packets to the plurality of receivers in the cell. The set of original data packets consists of a number of original data packets of the plurality of original data packets and the number of original data packets in the set of original data packets is dependent on a multicast data packet loss probability for transmitting data packets to one or more of the plurality of receivers in the cell. The single network coded data packet is a linear combination of two or more original data packets in the set of original data packets.

  • Patent number: 8433983
Abstract: This invention relates to methods and devices for verifying the identity of a person based on a sequence of feature components extracted from a biometric sample. Thereafter, the feature components are quantized and assigned a data bit sequence in such a way that adjacent quantization intervals have a Hamming distance of 1. The data bit sequences are concatenated into a bit string, and said bit string is combined with a helper data set by using an exclusive disjunction (XOR) operation into a codeword. Finally, the codeword is decoded into a secret V and a secret S is matched with the secret V.

  • Publication number: 20100027784
Abstract: There is provided a method of generating a key for encrypting Communications between first and second terminals comprising obtaining a measurement of characteristics of a physical identifier of a user; and extracting a key from the physical identifier using a code selected from a collection of codes, each code in the collection defining an ordered mapping from a set of values of the characteristics to a set of keys; wherein the collection of codes comprises at least one code in which the ordered mapping is a permutation of the ordered mapping of one of the other codes in the collection.

  • Publication number: 20060262964
Abstract: The invention applies to the verification of the identity of an object based on measurements of a physical characteristic of said object. In an enrollment phase, an object with known identity is measured. The resulting enrollment measurement is stored for future reference. Then in the verification phase, an object presented for verification is measured, and the verification measurement is compared with the enrollment measurement to decide whether or not the two measurements originate from the same object. According to the invention, the enrollment and the verification measurements are modeled as two realizations of a first random variable affected by an enrollment noise and a verification, noise respectively, said enrollment and verification noises being a realization of a second and a third random variable, respectively, said first, second and third random variables having known distributions.
