Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods for perceiving objects in an environment in three dimensions are provided. One apparatus includes a turntable capable of being coupled to a vehicle and a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) device mounted on the turntable. A system includes a vehicle with a turntable coupled to the vehicle and a LIDAR device mounted on the turntable. One method includes rotating a two-dimensional LIDAR device along an axis of rotation that is substantially normal to a ground plane beneath the vehicle, capturing data points of objects within the environment surrounding the LIDAR device, and generating a three-dimensional representation of the objects based on the data points.

Abstract: A system for communicating with RFID tags is disclosed. The system includes at least one RFID tag and a mobile RFID reader operable to interrogate the at least one RFID tag. The system also includes a first fixed RFID reader operable to interrogate the at least one RFID tag, the first fixed RFID reader configured to receive a request to interrogate the at least one RFID tag from the mobile RFID reader and configured to interrogate the at least one RFID tag based on the request from the mobile RFID reader. Additionally, the mobile RFID reader is configured to send a request to interrogate the at least one RFID tag to the first fixed RFID reader.

Abstract: A system and method for laser source detection. An exemplary embodiment of the system includes a first array of lenses, a second array of opto devices (including light sources and light detectors), and at least one processor. Energy from the light source may be detected at the array of opto devices having lenses at known positions, to allow the approximate location of the laser source to be determined. Upon determining the source, responsive action may be taken. If the incoming laser is from a friendly party, a friendly-party notification may be provided. If the incoming laser is from an enemy, reciprocal targeting or false reflections may be employed.
