    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for providing drive-up returns at a retail environment. A method includes receiving, from a customer device, selection of an item to return as a drive-up return, receiving, from the customer device, user input at a later time indicating that a customer associated with the device is on their way to the retail environment, populating a data file with information about the item to return and the customer, including the customer's current location, transmitting, to an employee device, the data file that causes the employee device to display a first graphical user interface (GUI) including a list of drive-up returns for arriving customers, receiving, from the employee device, selection of a control to handle the return for the customer, receiving, from the customer device, user input indicating the customer arrived, and providing, to the employee device, instructions to display a second GUI for performing the drive-up return.

A method can include receiving, at a user device in a group of user devices, information that causes the user device to display a first graphical user interface (GUI) including a list of orders for customers for fulfillment at a fulfillment location, presenting, at the user device and for each order in the list, an amount of time that the order has been scanned out of a hold location and awaiting customer arrival, receiving, at the user device, instructions to update the first GUI based on a determination, for each order in the list, that the amount of time for the order exceeds a first threshold amount of time, and presenting, at the user device and based on the instructions, the order in the list in a first indicia.

An alternate pickup person having a first user device can be associated with an order placed by a different user having a different user device. The user who placed the order can provide identifying information for the alternate pickup person to authorize the alternate pickup person to pick up the order.
