  • Publication number: 20070096075
Abstract: A field emission device includes a substrate, a first conductive layer formed over the substrate biased at a first voltage level, a second conductive layer formed over the substrate biased at a second voltage level different from the first voltage level, emitters formed on the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer for transmitting electrons, and a phosphor layer formed over the substrate and being disposed between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer, wherein the electrons are transmitted from one of the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer through the phosphor layer to the other of the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer in a direction substantially orthogonal to the normal direction of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7128805
Abstract: A plasma generating device, has a plurality of cavities shaped like half-ellipsoids, a plasma cavity, and microwave sources. The present invention takes advantage of geometrical properties of the propagation of electromagnetic waves by enclosing an electromagnetic field in the microwave range in overlapping cavities that together are shaped like a plurality of half ellipsoids. Each of the cavities has a first focus and a second focus, with the first foci of the cavities place close to each other. Microwaves entering the cavities at the second foci propagate inside the cavity and are focused at the first foci. The area around the first foci of both half ellipsoids forms a plasma cavity, providing a large volume filled with a microwave field. Thereby an increased volume of an electromagnetic field and thus of a plasma is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20060178266
Abstract: The present invention discloses a hydrogen storage medium including a composite of an alloy and a catalyst/expandable graphite. The expandable graphite can be replaced by activated carbon. The catalyst content is 1-50% based on the weight of the medium, which can be Pd, Pt, Cu, Co or Ni. The alloy can be a Mg-based alloy, Ti-based alloy, La-based alloy, Mn-based alloy or Fe-based alloy. The present invention also discloses a process for preparing a hydrogen storage composite.

  • Publication number: 20060145124
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of making YAG fluorescence powder which comprises steps of: (a) providing a first solution of anions and a second solution of cations; (b) mixing the first solution of anions and the second solution of cations drop by drop and forming a precipitate; (c) collecting the precipitate and drying it; (d) annealing the precipitate under a pre-determined temperature until powder occurs; (e) sintering the annealed powder with a plasma torch for at least once; and (f) collecting the sintered powder.

  • Publication number: 20060140827
Abstract: A concentration difference photochemical reactor includes of a photochemical reaction tub and a photocatalyst reaction plate. The photocatalyst reaction plate is formed by combining in sequence a photocatalyst, a metal, a conductive carrier, and a reduction electrode to reduce its internal resistance barrier and increase the electron-hole separation rate excited by photons. By adjusting the concentration difference in the solutions inside the photochemical reaction tub, the location of chemical reactions is changed to increase the efficiency and reduce the use of a sacrificing reagent without the restrictions of thermodynamics.

  • Publication number: 20060066214
Abstract: The present invention provides an array-like flat lighting source, which has an array of field emitter elements. The structure of the array of field emitter elements includes a substrate and a plurality of field emitter elements. The substrate has a plurality of grooves formed thereon and each of the field emitter elements is disposed in one of the grooves. The present field emission lighting source is spacer free, and its upper and lower substrates can be made of a same material to facilitate the maintenance of the vacuum. The array of field emitter elements can have an auxiliary conductive line for repair to guarantee normal operation of the light source if one of electrode lines becomes open.

  • Publication number: 20050130839
Abstract: A photocatalyst carrier comprises a carrier and a photocatalyst, wherein the carrier having a surface is made of an electric conductive material, and the photocatalyst is coated unevenly onto the surface to form a plurality of photocatalyst electrodes. By applying the concept of electronic transmission, the existence probability of the electron-hole pair is increased for enabling the reactant to perform an oxidation-reduction reaction on the photocatalyst and carrier respectively so as to enhance the photocatalyst activity.
