  • Publication number: 20060290573
Abstract: Antennae in which the corresponding radiative element contains at least one multilevel structure formed by a set of similar geometric elements (polygons or polyhedrons) electromagnetically coupled and grouped such that in the structure of the antenna can be identified each of the basic component elements. The design is such that it provides two important advantages: the antenna may operate simultaneously in several frequencies, and/or its size can be substantially reduced. Thus, a multiband radioelectric behaviour is achieved, that is, a similar behavior for different frequency bands.

  • Publication number: 20060082505
Abstract: A miniature antenna includes a radiating arm that defines a grid dimension curve. In one embodiment, the radiating arm includes a planar portion and at least one extruded portion. The planar portion of the radiating arm defines the grid dimension curve. The extruded portion of the radiating arm extends from the planar portion of the radiating arm to define a three-dimensional structure. In one embodiment, the miniature antenna includes a first radiating arm that defines a first grid dimension curve within a first plane and a second radiating arm that defines a second grid dimension curve within a second plane. In one embodiment, the miniature antenna includes a radiating arm that forms a non-planar structure.

  • Publication number: 20050195124
Abstract: The present invention consists of an antenna comprising at least two radiating structures, said radiating structures taking the form of two arms, said arms being made of or limited by a conductor, superconductor or semiconductor material, said two arms being coupled to each other through a region on first and second superconducting arms such that the combined structure of the coupled two-arms forms a small antenna with a broadband behavior, a multiband behavior or a combination of both effects. According to the present invention, the coupling between the two radiating arms is obtained by means of the shape and spatial arrangement of said two arms, in which at least one portion on each arm is placed in close proximity to each other (for instance, at a distance smaller than a tenth of the longest free-space operating wavelength) to allow electromagnetic fields in one arm being transferred to the other through said specific close proximity regions.

  • Publication number: 20050128148
Abstract: An undersampled microstrip array using multilevel and space-filling shaped patch elements based on a fractal geometry achieves within the same electrical area, the same directivity than can be obtained using conventional elements as square or circular-shaped patches. However, the number of elements for the fractal-based array is less, reducing the complexity of the feeding network and overall array. Mutual coupling can be reduced avoiding radiation pattern distortions. Higher gain than that obtained using classical patch elements within the same electrical can be achieved due to the less complexity in the feeding network.

  • Patent number: 6870507
Abstract: A miniature broadband stacked microstrip patch antenna formed by two patches, an active and a parasitic patches, where at least one of them is defined by a Ring-Like Space-Filling Surface (RSFS) being this RSFS newly defined in the present invention. By means of this novel technique, the size of the antenna can be reduced with respect to prior art, or alternatively, given a fixed size the antenna can operate at a lower frequency with respect to a conventional microstrip patch antenna of the same size and with and enhanced bandwidth. Also, the antennas feature a high-gain when operated at a high order mode.

  • Patent number: 6281846
Abstract: The dual multitriangular antennas of the present invention are mainly used and operate in the base stations of cellular telephony systems working in GSM and DCS bands. They provide radioelectric coverage to any user of one cell which operates in any of the two bands or simultaneously in both bands. The invention provides an antenna having a radiating element comprising basically several triangles exclusively linked by the vertexes thereof Its function is to work simultaneously in bands of the radioelectric spectrum corresponding to 890 MHz-960 MHZ GSM and 1710 MHZ-1880 MHZ DCS cellular telephony systems.
