    Abstract: A device is provided for releasing a volatile substance and a method of filling certain embodiments of the device with the volatile substance. A container is provided, with an internal space that is limited by means of a movable plunger that moves along a path during the change in volume of the medium, such that the change in volume of a carrier essentially correspondence to the change in volume of the internal space, due to the movement of the plunger along the path. The volatile substance can preferably be a fragrance.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the use of quaternary acetonitrile compounds corresponding to formula (I): in which R1, R2 and R3 independently of one another represent an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms and the groups R2 and R3 may also be part of a heterocycle including the N atom and, optionally, other hetero atoms and X is a charge-equalizing anion, for activators for detergents, more particularly detergents containing inorganic peroxygen compounds. The activators may be directly added to liquid detergents or may be added to the wash liquor together with the detergents in the form of aqueous preparations. Without the addition of hydrogen peroxide, a distinct color-lightening effect is obtained, even at low washing temperatures.

    Abstract: The invention concerns novel aqueous bleaching agents containing--relative to the agents--between 1.0 and 10.0 wt % alkali hypochlorite, between 0.5 and 1.5 wt % alkali hydroxide, between 0.5 and 2.0 wt % silicates, between 0.01 and 1.0 wt % phosphonic acids and/or phosphonates, and between 0.01 and 1.0 wt % polyacrylic acid compounds as well as optionally other conventional additives and auxiliary materials. The agents can be formulated without turbidity and reliably protect the textiles treated therewith against encrustation and yellowing, even in the presence of water hardness and heavy metal ions.
