  • Patent number: 11164193
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a server associated with a merchant, an identification token associated with a mobile device located in a service environment associated with the merchant, and receiving an address of a profile agent associated with and distinct from the mobile device. The identification token includes an opaque token generated by a source other than the mobile device. The method includes sending to the profile agent a request for a user profile associated with the mobile device, where the request includes the identification token, and receiving an opaque user profile responsive to the request. The method includes sending a personalized offer associated with the merchant to the profile agent based on the opaque user profile. • Patent number: 9854058
Abstract: A third-party profile service based on a proxy server model is described, where a user's profile service resides at a URL, in contrast to a profile service that requires federation identity. A profile service is provided that augments location-based services offered by service providers targeting mobile users via, for example, wireless and Wifi Networks. Additional personalization is driven by identity/profile services. Participants in the scenario are not required to share an identity or profile (i.e., static federation is not required). The user establishes a single profile with a trusted provider, hands-off solicitations to a profile agent that operates on behalf of the user to apply policies and preferences. The agent also provides privacy and anonymity (opaqueness).

  • Patent number: 7873029
Abstract: A system and method of providing multimedia communication services is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving contextual information including a subscriber identification associated with a wireline communication device at an intelligent service switch (ISS) of an integrated wireline-wireless (IWW) network from a network edge device, where the network edge device has detected a service request at the wireline communication device. The method also includes determining at least one multimedia communication service based on the contextual information and at least one service filter associated with the subscriber identification.

  • Publication number: 20090106382
Abstract: A notification service node to deliver notification messages is disclosed. The notification service node includes a processor and a memory accessible to the processor. The memory includes instructions executable by the processor to receive a notification message via an instant messaging network, where the notification message is intended for a user. The memory also includes instructions executable by the processor to identify a plurality of network-enabled devices that are associated with the user, to assign one of the network-enabled devices as a current device, and to send the notification message to the current device. The current device includes an agent module capable of discovering a second network-enabled device by communicating from the agent module to a second agent module of the second network-enabled device. The current device is capable of negotiating with the second network-enabled device for the second network-enabled device to render the content of the notification message.

  • Patent number: 7496630
Abstract: Multiple network-enabled devices each having a respective agent module are associated with a user. Each agent module is to determine if its associated network-enabled device is capable of rendering content associated with a notification message received thereby, to advertise its services and capabilities to at least one other respective agent module, to discover at least one other respective agent module, and to communicate information with at least one other respective agent module. A notification service node is to receive notification messages from at least one Instant Messaging network and to forward each of the notification messages to a current device of the network-enabled devices. For each notification message, the respective agent module for the current device directs the current device to render content associated therewith if capable of same, and if incapable, negotiates with another one of the network-enabled devices to render the content.
