  • Publication number: 20240189184
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to pharmaceutical packaging such as syringes, vials, and blood tubes having a thermoplastic wall that is coated with a gas barrier coating in which at least one layer is applied by atomic layer deposition. The gas barrier coating may include, for example, one or more layers of SiO2, one or more layers of Al2O3, or a combination thereof, and may serve as a barrier against a variety of gases including oxygen, water vapor, and nitrogen. The present disclosure is also directed to syringes and vials which are configured for the storage of lyophilized or cold-chain drugs and in particular to maintain container closure integrity throughout the supply and storage conditions associated with such drugs. The present disclosure is also directed to evacuated blood tubes having extended shelf lives.

  • Publication number: 20240130937
Abstract: The present invention relates to oral care composition comprising a zinc salt having a solubility in water higher than 3.0·104 mg/L at 25° C., an isopropylmethylphenol compound, a glycyrrhizin derivative and water, as well as to their use in oral care, in particular for the treatment and/or prevention of dental plaque formation, caries formation, calculus formation, halitosis, gingivitis, periodontitis, peri-implant mucositis and/or periimplantitis.

  • Publication number: 20240100257
Abstract: Plunger assemblies (20) including a plunger sleeve (34), a plunger rod (22), and an axial protrusion (30) disposed within an inner cavity (40) of the plunger sleeve. Application of a distal force onto the plunger via the plunger rod causes the axial protrusion to contact and apply pressure to an engagement surface (50) in the inner cavity. The engagement surface is configured to receive distal force from the end of the axial protrusion. This causes the plunger to elongate and slightly constrict, thus reducing break loose force and facilitating transition from storage mode to dispensing mode of the plunger.

  • Patent number: 10073996
Abstract: Device with RFID radio frequency identification window that couples to the mouth of a shopping cart, or another container, that includes a frame with a window horizontally crossed by a plurality of light rays coming from a light curtain, an infrared sensor configured to detect an object that approaches the window, an RFID reader configured to detect and identify codes contained in RFID labels incorporated in the objects that enter or exit the basket of the cart through the window, UHF antennas, the radiation beams of which cover the space of the window, configured to be activated once the infrared sensor detects the object that approaches; and a processor configured to store the objects that stay inside the cart in an electronic shopping list.

  • Publication number: 20020193105
Abstract: Method and apparatus for handling a base transceiver station that has become orphaned as a result of a loss of a base station controller. The method includes determining that contact has been lost between a base transceiver station and a primary base station controller that normally controls the base transceiver station, identifying a secondary base station controller to adopt the base transceiver station, and effecting a handover of the base transceiver station from the primary base station controller to the secondary base station controller. The invention ensures that an operator can maintain some level of service to its customers even if it has lost a base station controller, including the ability to handle emergency calls.
