The method comprises an identification step comprising detecting the laboratory resource in the laboratory with an imaging sensor of an augmented reality device and identifying the laboratory resource with an identification unit of the augmented reality device by receiving identification information from the identification feature, a data retrieving step comprising retrieving information about the identified laboratory resource from a data server via a communication interface of the augmented reality device, and a tracking step comprising generating and displaying augmented reality information on a display device of the augmented reality device.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system to carry out the method comprising the steps: analyzing biological samples of a patient to obtain measurement values and according to a test order; a laboratory middleware receiving the measurement values; providing a virtual analyzer comprising a workflow engine and an algorithm calculator distinct from the laboratory middleware; the workflow engine receiving input data comprising the measurement values and second input data comprising patient data from the laboratory middleware; the algorithm calculator processing the input data and using the clinical algorithm as instructed by the workflow engine and transmitting interpretation support data to the workflow engine; and the laboratory middleware augmenting the measurement values and with the interpretation support data received from the virtual analyzer.
