  • Publication number: 20240307893
Abstract: Controlling the operation of a hydrocyclone to maintain the hydrocyclone in a desired operational state as it separates a pumped fluid into an overflow stream and an underflow stream is described. The method comprises measuring vibrations of the hydrocyclone at a selected frequency within a predetermined frequency range; comparing a characteristic of the measured vibrations at the selected frequency with a plurality of values representing transitions between different operational states of the hydrocyclone to identify a current operational state of the hydrocyclone; and generating an adjustment setting to change the identified current operational state to the desired operational state, where the adjustment setting increases or decreases a pumped fluid parameter.

  • Publication number: 20240051077
Abstract: A floor polishing armature including an inner ring having an inner ring upper surface and an inner ring lower surface, an outer ring, spokes extending between the inner ring and the outer ring, a disc retainer formed on the outer ring, a spoke opening extending from the inner ring upper surface to the inner ring lower surface, and a disc insert retained in the disc retainer. The disc is insert adapted for floor treatment. The spoke opening extends to the disc retainer. The disc insert is released by pressing through the spoke opening. Optionally, airflow openings are formed between the spokes. Spoke indents are preferably formed on an underside of the spokes between the inner ring and the disc retainer. The disc inserts and the arc inserts are both retained by interference fit.

  • Patent number: 11688290
Abstract: Techniques for estimating the impact of new operational conditions in a baseline air traffic scenario are described. For at least one flight, embodiments infer an aircraft intent that fits corresponding flight track data. A reconstructed trajectory is computed using the inferred aircraft intent. For at least one flight in an alternative air traffic scenario, an aircraft intent that fits new operational conditions is generated. The new operational conditions include a new air traffic management operation and a new air traffic procedure, and the generated aircraft intent conforms to the new air traffic management operation and the new air traffic procedure. Embodiments compute a generated trajectory of the at least one flight in the alternative air traffic scenario using the generated aircraft intent and compute trajectory-based analytics on each computed trajectory of the baseline and alternative air traffic scenarios using a set of metrics.

  • Patent number: 10478768
Abstract: An exemplary single bed reversing blower adsorption based air separation unit is configured to follow the O2 load placed thereon by adjusting flow rates therethrough and power consumption. At least one and preferably multiple pressure sensors sense O2 pressure within an O2 storage region downstream of an adsorber vessel. These sensed pressures are utilized to generate control signals controlling flow rates at locations upstream of the compressor, such as at a reversible blower and an output compressor. Control loops for the blower and the compressor are independent of each other and have different time constants. Effective following of the O2 load is thus achieved without driving the air separation unit into operational conditions outside of design and also maintaining optimal power consumption for the O2 produced, such that efficiency is maintained over a large turndown ratio.

  • Publication number: 20190232302
Abstract: A hydrocyclone (10) is disclosed in which the inlet section (14) of the chamber (13) has a curved inner side wall surface (29) which is generally in the shape of a volute (28), for directing material received in use from the feed inlet port (17) in a rotational motion. In the embodiment shown, the volute (28) is ramped axially downward within the inlet section (14), in a direction towards the conical separating section (15), and turns through an angle of more than 270 angle degrees. The conical section has a central axis X-X, and comprises two segments 32, 34 each being of a frustoconical shape, and joined together end to end to form a generally conical separating chamber (15). An internal angle A located between an inner wall surface (50) of the so-formed conical separating chamber (15) and a line parallel to the central axis X-X is ideally less than (8) angle degrees, to provide a hydrocyclone design with beneficial operating parameters.
