  • Patent number: 10818407
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical apparatus having an insulating space which contains a dielectric insulation fluid comprising an organofluorine compound. At least one solid component of the apparatus that is directly exposed to the insulation fluid contains a basic body made of a first material and a protective layer made of a second material different from the first material, the protective layer being directly or indirectly applied on the basic body and having a thickness of at least 50 ?m. The organofluorine compound is selected from the group consisting of: fluoroethers, fluoroketones, fluoroolefins, fluoronitriles, and mixtures thereof, and the first material comprises or consists of a material selected from the group consisting of: a polymeric material, a ceramic, a composite material, and mixtures or combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 10256008
Abstract: An electrical apparatus for electrical energy handling includes a housing with at least one insulation space, in which an electrical component is arranged and which contains an insulation medium surrounding the electrical component. The insulation medium includes an organofluorine compound and at least one further gaseous component. The apparatus further includes a gas flow generating device for flowing an initial gas mixture, containing the organofluorine compound and at least one further component of the insulation medium, out of the insulation space through an outlet opening arranged in the housing. A substance recovery device downstream of outlet opening includes a separator for separating the organofluorine compound from the at least one further component of the initial gas mixture, the separator being a liquefaction device for liquefying and/or solidification device for solidifying the organofluorine compound.

Inventors: Charles Johnson, Daniel Boesch, Javier Mantilla Florez, Oliver Cossalter, Stephan Grob
  • Patent number: 9899167
Abstract: An electrical switching device is filled with a dielectric insulating medium comprising an organofluorine compound, in particular a fluoroether, a fluoroarnine, a fluoroketone or a fluoroolefin, and comprises at least an arcing contact arrangement with a first arcing contact and a mating second arcing contact. At least a first intermediate volume is provided downstream from the first arcing contact, and/or at least a second intermediate volume is provided downstream from the second arcing contact. The intermediate volumes are for intermediate pressure enhancement and exhaust gas jet formation for turbulent convective heat transfer to metal walls of the exhaust system. In embodiments, the first and/or second intermediate volume is delimited by at least one moveable wall arranged transversally to the longitudinal axis and shiftable parallel to it by an actuation device.

  • Publication number: 20170213673
Abstract: The present invention relates to a refill-container for replenishing and/or reconditioning an insulation fluid contained in an insulation space of an electrical apparatus. At least a portion of the interior of the refill-container defines a refill-fluid containment space, in which a refill-fluid comprising an organo-fluorine compound is contained. According to the invention, the refill-container further comprises an opening designed to be brought from a sealed state, in which the refill-fluid is hermetically contained in the refill-containment space, to an open state, in which the refill-fluid is allowed to flow through the opening out of the refill-containment space into the insulation space.
