  • Patent number: 8851655
Abstract: A printer comprises a heating system to produce a hot-air flowimpinging on a print media, the heating system comprising a heat source, a fan, and an air chamber. The air chamber has an air-impinging plate with air-impinging holes adjacent to the print media. The heating system provides first and second partially overlapping hot-air circulation circuits. The first hot-air circulation circuit leads from the heater through the holes of the air-impinging plate to direct hot air through the air-impinging holes to the print media in the course of printing operation. The second hot-air circulation circuit leads back to the heater through a recirculation channel without passing through the air-impinging holes of the air-impinging plate to prevent air from being directed onto the print media, in the course of the heat-up operation. The heating system further comprises circuit-switching arranged to switch the air flow between the first and second hot-air circulation circuits.

  • Patent number: 8855011
Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques for data collecting network such as wireless sensors are disclosed. A described technique includes detecting one or more remote nodes included in the wireless sensor network using a local power level that controls a radio range of the local node. The technique includes transmitting a local outdegree. The local outdegree can be based on a quantity of the one or more remote nodes. The technique includes receiving one or more remote outdegrees from the one or more remote nodes. The technique includes determining a local node type of the local node based on detecting a node type of the one or more remote nodes, using the one or more remote outdegrees, and using the local outdegree. The technique includes adjusting characteristics, including an energy usage characteristic and a data compression characteristic, of the wireless sensor network by selectively modifying the local power level and selectively changing the local node type.

  • Publication number: 20140295236
Abstract: A novel retarding mechanism is shown to reduce the inertia of the battery shell during a linear detachment movement from a handle of an appliance, such as a battery powered razor or shaver. The retarding mechanism is based on the interaction between the battery shell found on a lower portion of a razor handle and a battery carrier found within the upper portion of a razor handle. Specifically, an engagement spring having at least one knob type structure is mounted on an interior surface of the battery shell and axially engages protrusions and/or recesses on an exterior surface of the battery carrier during a detachment movement of the battery shell. During opening or detachment of the shell, the engagement of the knob with protrusions produces a retarding force effect of the shell during the linear detachment.

  • Publication number: 20140225955
Abstract: Examples are provided of controlling sheet media dryers. A controller operates a fan at plural duty cycles and correlates a resulting air pressure to each to define empirical data pairs. A parabolic curve fit to the empirical data is used to derive additional data pairs, and a lookup table is defined using the empirical and derived data pairs. The controller uses the lookup table to operate the fan during normal operations of a sheet media dryer.

  • Patent number: 8800824
Abstract: A sequential delivery valve provides sequential delivery of gas propellant and liquid product from a container to a dispensing head for ejecting an atomized spray from the dispensing head. When the dispensing head is depressed, a pusher in the valve passes from a closed position wherein no liquid and no gas is allowed to travel through the valve to a partially open position where only gas is allowed to travel through the valve and eventually to a fully open position wherein both gas and liquid are allowed to travel through the valve into the dispensing head. When the dispensing head is released, the pusher passes from the fully open position back to a partially open position allowing only gas to travel through the valve and eventually to the closed position wherein no gas and no liquid are allowed to travel through the valve into the dispensing head.

  • Publication number: 20140021266
Abstract: Controlling a temperature with a servomechanism. A temperature is monitored at the servomechanism for a period of time. A difference is determined between the temperature and a target temperature at the servomechanism. A target power gain is determined at the servomechanism to produce the target temperature such that the target power gain is determined based on a non-linear determination. A power gain is adjusted at the servomechanism to the target power gain based on a result of the determination such that the temperature is the target temperature.

  • Patent number: 8625433
Abstract: A method of enabling redundancy for a Home Subscriber Service (HSS) of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is provided. Redundancy is provided by a plurality of HSS instances. Where a client node of the IMS requires details of an HSS, the client node is provided with details of a proxy HSS representing the HSS instances. The client node uses the details to send a subsequent request directed to the proxy HSS. The proxy HSS selects an appropriate one of the HSS instances to handle the request received at the proxy HSS from the client node. The proxy HSS forwards the request to the selected HSS instance for handling.

  • Publication number: 20130239413
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a hair removal apparatus (100) having a base body (10) and a slide (20), which is mounted thereon to be movable (displaceably). At least one wet shaver unit (40) comprising a razor blade, such as a blade cartridge for wet shaving, is mounted on the slide. Due to the mobility of the slide (20), this wet shaver unit (40) is protected from damage in the event of impact of the hair removal apparatus, e.g., in a fall to the floor. Certain target positions of the slide (20) can be secured with a slip clutch, such that they become unlocked on exceeding a minimum force that is acting and thereby release a movement of the slide.
