  • Patent number: 9448205
Abstract: A coil arrangement for a magnetic induction impedance measurement apparatus includes an excitation coil configured to generate a magnetic excitation field in an object, a shimming coil configured to generate a shimming field, and a detection coil configured to detect a magnetic response field generated in response to the magnetic excitation field inducing a current in the object. In order to enhance an accuracy of a determination of a parameter of an object, a value of a field strength of a net magnetic excitation field in the detection coil, being the sum of the excitation field and the shimming field, is approximately within a magnitude range of an average value of a field strength of the magnetic response field in the detection coil.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 9, 2012
Date of Patent: September 20, 2016
    Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.
Inventors: Claudia Hannelore Igney, Francisco Javier Rosell Ferrer, Matthias Hamsch
  • Patent number: 8808190
Abstract: A planar coil arrangement (400) for a magnetic induction impedance measurement apparatus comprises an excitation coil (102) configured for generating a magnetic excitation field in an object, and a detection coil (404) configured for detecting a magnetic response field generated in response to the magnetic excitation field inducing a current in the object. In order to minimize an effect of the magnetic excitation field in the detection coil (404), the detection coil (404) is radially symmetrical shaped with respect to the excitation coil (102) and is arranged relative to the excitation coil (102) such that the magnetic excitation field is minimized in the detection coil (404).

Abstract: A coil arrangement (215) for a magnetic induction impedance measurement apparatus comprises an excitation coil (208) configured for generating a magnetic excitation field in an object, a shimming coil (364) for generating a shimming field, and a detection coil (210-214) configured for detecting a magnetic response field generated in response to the magnetic excitation field inducing a current in the object (106). In order to enhance an accuracy of a determination of a parameter of an object, a value of a field strength of a net magnetic excitation field in the detection coil (210-214), being the sum of the excitation field and the shimming field, is approximately within a magnitude range of an average value of a field strength of the magnetic response field in the detection coil (210-214).

  • Patent number: 7442538
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device which are used to obtain and maintain multiple biological cultures, with environmental parameters similar to those of larger bioreactors (from 1 L) and with a degree of measurement automation similar to that currently obtained using microplates (1-2 mL). The aforementioned environmental parameters include at least the following: measurement and control of temperature, agitation and aeration, measurement and control of pH and dissolved oxygen and measurement of the biomass.

  • Patent number: 6151523
Abstract: Apparatus and procedure for measuring volumes and global and segmental corporal composition in human beings, by means of measuring the electrical impedance at various frequencies, determining in this manner, the ratio between the intracellular water and the extracellular water volumes, the contents of total and extracellular water in each segment and the contents of the segmental lean mass. The apparatus is made up of a computer (11) which controls an electronic box (12), fed through a feeding source (14), various electrodes (13) coming out from said electronic box (12) which are placed on the body under research.
