  • Patent number: 11111379
Abstract: It is provided a phyllosilicate having a layered structure in the form of platelets and comprising an intercalating agent between the platelets, wherein the intercalating agent is a polyester of a molecular weight of 274 to 30,000 g/mol, and wherein the phyllosilicate is other than a phyllosilicate modified through ionic interchange. It is also provides a polymer nanocomposite comprising a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) polymer an the phyllosilicate mentioned above, as well as preparation processes for the preparation of the intercalated phyllosilicate and the PET nanocomposite. The PET nanocomposite is particularly useful for packaging, particularly for food and drink packaging.

  • Patent number: 9588028
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine for testing cushioning material for packaging, which improves the test method and performs a more precise characterization of cushioning for packaging. The machine is formed by: a load arm (1); a lift motor (2) on the upper part thereof; several guides that connect (i) a rigid platform (6) for positioning the sample to be tested, replaceable by a load cell (6?), and (ii) an impact platform comprising sensors (7) for monitoring the position thereof and measuring acceleration during impact; a spindle (4) for moving the load arm; and, on the lower part thereof, a seismic mass (5) for reducing the transmission of the impact.

  • Patent number: 9280918
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine that simulates movement during transport, for the testing of packaging elements. The machine comprises: a load platform (1), the lower part of said platform having attached thereto a plurality of upper ball joints (3, 61,71) with a ±30° rotation angle, coplanar with the axis of rotation of a rotating support (5, 5?, 5?); and a lower platform (6) which is located opposite the load platform (1) and which is provided with anchors for attaching same to a vertical vibration table (25,26). Additionally, a central support (7) is located between the load platform (1) and the lower platform (6). Furthermore, a plurality of mutually independent hydraulic servo-actuators (8,8?,8?) are attached between the upper spherical ball joints (3) and the lower ball joints (4), said servo-actuators (8,8?,8?) being placed along two perpendicular planes that pass through the center of the rotating support (5, 5?, 5?), forming a 90° angle.
