  • Patent number: 9310412
Abstract: An industrial process field device having a piezoelectric transducer performs self-testing of the condition of the piezoelectric transducer during a self-test mode. A charging current is supplied to the piezoelectric transducer, and voltage on the piezoelectric transducer as a result of the charging current is monitored. A diagnostic test result indicating condition of the piezoelectric transducer is produced based on the magnitude of the voltage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 28, 2012
Date of Patent: April 12, 2016
    Assignee: Rosemount Inc.
Inventors: Jawahar Arunachalam, Udayashankar Bangalore Kasturi
  • Patent number: 9310794
Abstract: A wireless industrial process field device for use in controlling or monitoring a process variable of an industrial process includes a process interface element configured to sense or control the process variable of the industrial process. Process device circuitry includes a process interface circuit configured to measure or control the process variable of the industrial process with the process interface element. Wireless communication circuitry is configured for wireless communication. Power supply circuitry is configured to provide power to the process device circuitry from a power storage element at an output voltage. A low drop out (LDO) voltage regulator is configured to reduce the output voltage. A boost converter is configured to increase the output voltage.
