Publication number: 20200287812Abstract: A non-transient computer readable medium having program code stored thereon for causing a processing device to perform the method comprising accessing information related to local area network traffic, by the processing device and receiving the information, is described. The method also includes displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) for a user of the network and calculating a percentage of impact for each device connected to the network that is using resources on the network. Further, the method includes displaying by the GUI, geometric shapes whose areas on the GUI approximate the relative impact that each device or group of devices has on the network.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2019Publication date: September 10, 2020Inventors: Ofer Tenenbaum, John Jay Armstrong, Pavel Vladimirovich Popov

Patent number: 7587209Abstract: A method in an SGSN of a GPRS/UMTS network for wireless communications including a mobile node, the SGSN, a GGSN, an HLR, an SMS-G and a SMS-SC includes introducing a delay after a mobile node has attached and is connected to allow the delivery of SMS messages before initiating tear down procedures to place the mobile node in a standby mode of operation by tearing down the signaling links between the mobile node and the SGSN. Generally, the inventive process performed by the SGSN includes receiving, from the mobile node, an initial UE (attach request) message to establish a signaling link, authenticating the mobile node to determine whether to allow it to attach to the network, accepting and completing the attach, informing the HLR that the mobile node is attached and delaying the tear down of the signaling links for a period sufficient to enable the SMS-SC to deliver any queued SMS messages.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2002Date of Patent: September 8, 2009Assignee: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: Richard Bianconi, Jay Armstrong, Paul Boudreaux

Publication number: 20060217934Abstract: Electronic devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for remote and/or automated monitoring of temperature, humidity, or other factors in a building during a remediation project, such as after a flood or mold infestation. These devices comprise sensors devices that can be distributed around a room or building, for transmitting data to a processor such as a laptop computer. Using telephone, cell phone, or internet connections, the processor can transmit compiled data to a website or remote computer, for analysis and use by a project supervisor. Sensor-switch devices also are disclosed for turning fans, dehumidifiers, or other equipment on or off. Using a telephone, cell phone, or internet connnection, a project supervisor at any location can download information, obtain current status information, and turn equipment on or off as needed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2005Publication date: September 28, 2006Inventor: Jay Armstrong

Publication number: 20050106268Abstract: A method for cleaning noxious colonies of mold and other microbes out of buildings is disclosed, using “dry ice blasting”. This method involves pumping a gas stream containing small particles of dry ice (solidified carbon dioxide, or CO2) through a high-speed nozzle that can be directed at any surface that needs to be cleaned. This type of equipment previously has been used for cleaning charred surfaces and coating layers of soot and smoke off of wooden and other surfaces, in a building that has suffered a fire, but it has not previusly been used for mold remediation. It is highly effective for cleaning uneven surfaces, such as the surfaces of unfinished lumber, using a controllable a combination of pressure, velocity, and flow rates that can effectively soften, abrade, and blow away any surface layers that do not have the hardness of normal wood.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2004Publication date: May 19, 2005Inventor: Jay Armstrong

Patent number: 6862856Abstract: A corner block is provided for use in constructing an exterior corner of a retaining wall. The corner block is designed to receive a portion of a retaining member that is used to secure a reinforcement member to blocks that are adjacent to the corner block. The corner block permits construction of a retaining wall having an exterior corner, where the right and left sides of the exterior corner can be reinforced.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2002Date of Patent: March 8, 2005Assignee: Anchor Wall Systems, Inc.Inventors: John Walter Turgeon-Schramm, Donal Jay Armstrong

Patent number: 6513720Abstract: An electronic data storage device is described that is capable of being worn, such as, as a piece of jewelry. The device includes a memory card, a modifiable directory structure for organizing electronic files stored in the memory card, modifiable electronic files containing bearer information stored in the directory structure, and may have a container enclosing the card and/or covering card contacts. The device may include labeling on one of an exterior surface of the memory card and/or the container indicating a name of the bearer to whom the information pertains; and unique data identifying the bearer retrievably stored on said memory card. The memory card may be inserted in an adapter and information retrieved and read via a personal or laptop computer.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2000Date of Patent: February 4, 2003Inventor: Jay A. Patent number: 5365699Abstract: This invention relates to a carbon dioxide blast cleaning system for propelling dry-ice pellets by cryogens, namely high pressure nitrogen, helium and/or oxygen, against a surface being cleaned. Carbon dioxide pellets, in a pellet hopper, a blast unit and a blast gun are located at a blast site near the surface being cleaned. A portable cryogenic liquid nitrogen, liquid helium and/or liquid air tank with an ambient air vaporizer is also located at or near the blast site. Cryogenic liquid nitrogen, liquid helium and/or oxygen flow through the ambient air vaporizer to the liquid and is vaporized to form a high pressure gas. The high pressure, cryogenic gas is then brought into the blast unit and mixed with the pellets. The mixture of the high pressure gas and the pellets exit the gun nozzle at high velocities to blast the surface being cleaned.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1992Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Inventors: Jay Armstrong, James R. Becker

Patent number: 5184427Abstract: This invention relates to carbon dioxide blase cleaning system. In the present invention, the propelling of the dry-ice pellets is provided by cryogens, namely liquid nitrogen and/or liquid oxygen supplied under high pressure. In a preferred embodiment liquid carbon dioxide pellets are placed into a pellet hopper and a portable liquid nitrogen and/or liquid air storage tank is employed. The pellet hopper and the blast unit and blast gun(s) are located at the blast site, the portable cryogenic liquid nitrogen and/or liquid air tank with an ambient air vaporizer are located at or near the blast site. In this invention, as distinguished from the prior art, all the equipment and material for cleaning is located near the blast site and there is only one hose running to the nitrogen supply, there are no cables or hoses running to a truck air compressor or generator located away from the blast site. Pellets from the hopper are fed into the blast gun(s) through a blast unit.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1990Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Assignee: James R. BeckerInventor: Jay Armstrong
