  • Patent number: 12005537
Abstract: A fastener removal assembly comprises a drive housing operable to receive a drive unit, wherein the drive housing comprises a shaft configured to rotate based on operation of the drive unit, the shaft extending downwards and out of the drive housing. The fastener removal assembly further comprises a set of gripping jaws disposed under the drive housing and around a portion of the shaft and a first pneumatic actuator coupled to the set of gripping jaws configured to actuate the set of gripping jaws to expand and retract. The fastener removal assembly further comprises at least one second pneumatic actuator disposed on top of the first pneumatic actuator. The fastener removal assembly further comprises an intermediate coupler, wherein the intermediate coupler is coupled to a side of the drive housing, and wherein the at least one second pneumatic actuator is coupled to a bottom side of the intermediate coupler.

  • Patent number: 5411019
Abstract: In anesthesia apparatus, an integrated oxygen ratio controller is provided for supplying oxygen and an anesthesia gas through respective flow control valves to a patient breathing circuit. The integrated oxygen ratio controller includes differential pressure sensing means and anesthesia gas flow control means. The differential pressure sensing means includes a rolling diaphragm forming a portion of one wall of a chamber responsive to the pressure in the oxygen pipeline and another rolling diaphragm forming a portion of one wall of another chamber responsive to the pressure in the anesthesia gas pipeline. The anesthesia gas flow control means controls the flow of gas to the anesthesia gas pipeline. The rolling diaphragms are opposed to each other and are coupled together by a displaceable means. The displaceable means is also coupled to the anesthesia gas flow control means to control the flow of anesthesia gas therethrough in response to the differential pressure existing between the pipelines.

  • Patent number: 5100148
Abstract: A golf practice and exercise apparatus has a shaft with a grip at one end and a variable drag device at the other end. The variable drag device has a main body with opposed edges. Several wings are attached to each of the edges in a manner to be easily removed from the apparatus. The shaft can be held in a golfer's hands and the practice device swung as in striking a golf ball with a golf club, whereupon air resistance of the drag device imparts a force into the golfer's body to improve muscle strength and coordination and to cause the golfer to assume an improved stance which will be remembered with practice.

  • Patent number: 4828201
Abstract: A take-up assembly for operating a mechanism for loading and unloading the leader block of a tape cartridge, and for receiving the web of tape which it contains for subsequent transport, stores energy for transfer to the leader block loading/unloading mechanism when it is to operate to load or unload the leader block, so that even a conventional take-up motor is made capable of supplying the increased energy needed for leader block loading/unloading.A preferred take-up assembly includes a hub which is directly coupled to the take-up motor and which serves to receive the web of tape for direct transport, and a coupling which is nested within the hub and which receives the leader block loading/unloading mechanism. A pin depends from the coupling and into a circumferentially arranged slot formed inthe hub, to connect the hub and coupling as the pin engages the ends of the slot.

  • Patent number: 4826101
Abstract: An apparatus for loading and unloading the leader block of an IBM 3480 tape cartridge uses a loading/unloading mechanism which is directly associated with the take-up reel of the apparatus rather than separate mechanism. The take-up reel of the apparatus is provided with a linkage which extends from the periphery of the take-up reel, and which has a pin for engaging the leader block of the tape cartridge. The pin of the linkage is caused to proceed along a specified path, following a camming surface under the influence of an over-center spring, to transfer the leader block from the tape cartridge, through its specified tape path, to the take-up reel, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4169013
Abstract: Glucoamylase is prepared by fermenting a microorganism capable of producing glucoamylase in a nutrient medium containing at least about 16% to about 25% of ground corn which has been liquefied by the action of heat, water and an alpha-amylase enzyme preparation. The alpha-amylase enzyme preparation is preferably derived from a microorganism of Bacillus licheniformis.

  • Patent number: 4013216
Abstract: In a card punch machine there is provided a photoelectromechanical punch checking system. A shutter is mounted on each punch pin in the card punch machine and movement of each shutter is monitored by a photoelectronic sensor. Signals from the electronic sensors are compared with data employed to select and actuate the punch pins to provide verification that the data signals have caused the selected punch pins to be actuated through a punching operation cycle.
