  • Patent number: 9487074
Abstract: A hybrid-electric vehicle powertrain including a first prime mover and an electric traction motor/generator provides for electric operation of a power take off. A sensor indicates electric fraction motor/generator speed. A control system provides for limiting engagement of the power take off to the electric traction motor/generator through a transmission to periods when the electric traction motor/generator is turning a less than a predefined maximum speed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 15, 2013
Date of Patent: November 8, 2016
Assignee: International Truck Intellectual Property Company, LLC

  • Publication number: 20070135257
Abstract: A control system for a hybrid vehicle equipped with power takeoff equipment provides a multi-bus, network environment, integrating operation of a vehicle electric traction motor, power takeoff equipment including prospectively hydraulic motion control equipment and a vehicle thermal engine. The control system is readily programmable to allow reconfiguration depending upon the character of the equipment installed. Efficient utilization of the vehicle's thermal engine and enhanced system robustness is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050040936
Abstract: A circuit (26) for configuring a seven-terminal receptacle socket (10) in a towing vehicle to properly accommodate the particular one of several possible electric circuit configurations in a particular trailer that is being towed by the towing vehicle. The particular electric circuit configuration in the trailer—FIGS. 3, 4, 5, 6 are four possible configurations—depends on the particular lamps (52, 54, 56, 58, 72, 74) and brakes (50, 80) in the trailer.
