    Abstract: Collecting rods are pre-greased for use with a rotorod sampler. Multiple collecting rods are molded in one piece with a header to form a group. The collecting rods are attached to the header by thin gates so that they can be easily broken off for use. Multiple groups are combined into an assembly that is adhered to a container lid and dipped into a pre-greasing suspension to pre-grease the collecting rods. The container lid is attached to the rest of the container to enclose the pre-greased collecting rods for shipment.

  • Method of joining metals of different physical properties

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing wherein a first metal member is installed into a second metal member is disclosed. The first metal member is punched out of a stock into the second metal member which extrudes a slug. The combination is then placed over a flat surface and a second larger punch is applied to cause the slug to reflow back up into its original structure, but with that reflow crimping the first metal member that was punched out into a permanently attached place within the second metal member.

    Abstract: A plug seal for sealing a housing which has a hardness at least slightly less than the hardness of the plug seal is disclosed wherein the plug has a predetermined geometric shape and has first and second portions having corresponding first and second perimeters, the second perimeter being greater than the first perimeter, and the plug has a groove wherein as the plug is inserted into the housing the second portion of the plug will force a portion of the housing into the groove for providing a fluid tight fit.
