  • Publication number: 20250241825
Abstract: Described herein are various embodiments and related methods of a needle and tubing organizing support system that can include one or more of a tray assembly configured to protect and retain a portion of a needle assembly and a securing mechanism. The tray assembly can include a tray body and a capturing recess extending along the tray body for at least partially containing a needle of the needle assembly. The tray assembly can further include a retention element and/or a sheath shaped to extend along a length of the capturing recess and encompass at least a portion of the needle of the needle assembly. The securing mechanism can be coupled to the tray body and configured to releasably secure a tubing of the needle assembly to the tray body.

  • Patent number: 7374907
Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing tissue slides is disclosed. The apparatus includes a holding assembly for manipulating the sample block, a blade assembly for preparing a thin section from the sample block, and a transfer roller mechanism for transferring the thin section to a receiving medium. The apparatus further includes a controller that may track the sample block and thin section. The method includes the steps of first locating a sample embedded within a support medium, which may be paraffin or a similar medium. Next, the embedded sample is oriented in such a way that its working surface is presented. This orientation may entail determining the orientation of the embedded sample with respect to the blade that will produce the largest cross-sectional area. Next, a slice of the sample from said embedded sample is removed and subsequently transferred to a suitable receiving medium, which may include a microscope slide.

  • Publication number: 20050080915
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a media device capabilities determination mechanism in a networked computing environment are provided. Some of today's operating systems and applications deliver a set of remoting features to enable a networked ecosystem of remote media consumption devices. These devices connect to the host and display a remoted media experience via remoting protocols and technologies. In this regard, the device capabilities determination mechanism of the invention enables a remote device to specify a custom set of media capabilities that should be remoted from the host to the remote device.
