  • Patent number: 8666219
Abstract: An interface cable assembly, which enables the user of either an iPhone® or Android® smartphone to record both incoming and outgoing telephone conversations on a standard dual channel (stereo) audio recorder in either WMA or MP3 format, includes one four-conductor plug that engages the audio input/output jack of the smartphone, one three-conductor plug that engages the dual-channel input jack of an audio recorder, and one four-conductor jack that engages the plug of a standard earphone and microphone assembly. In addition, the cable assembly includes resistors and capacitors which provide an impedance match between the input/output circuitry and the audio recorder input circuitry. In order to clearly distinguish between the participants in a recorded telephone conversation, outgoing voice signals are recorded on one channel of the audio recorder, while incoming voice signals are recorded on the other channel.

  • Publication number: 20120177941
Abstract: Multilayer armor includes an outside armor layer, a first armor layer underneath the outside armor layer, a second armor layer underneath the first armor layer, and a truss layer underneath the second armor layer. In another variation, the multilayer armor includes an outside armor layer, a composite layer underneath the outside armor layer that comprises a plurality of spheres, a second armor layer underneath the composite layer to provide a rigid support to the composite layer, and a third armor layer underneath the second armor layer. The second layer may comprise a composite material that includes a plurality of tightly nested layers in a self-assembling arrangement of spheres made of a high hardness material bonded together using a matrix.

  • Publication number: 20050138431
Abstract: A software-based system allows immediate isolation of all IP traffic until a newly added machine has been qualified. In the preferred embodiment, this verification is carried out using a variety of mechanisms, optionally including a local agent, vulnerability scanning, and system fingerprinting. Any newly attached machine requesting an IP address is quarantined into a restricted address space until an authorization server validates that it is running a valid operating system at the appropriate patch levels, is not actively scanning or transmitting malicious data, has the proper virus software and engine, and is not vulnerable on known Trojan ports.

  • Publication number: 20040030428
Abstract: The present invention optimizes shop floor operations by generating production schedules that respect the complex manufacturing rules of specified production operations. The invention utilizes attribute-sensitive changeover models that consider both the duration and cost of each changeover. Since the invention considers more than just the item, changeover models can be based at the item level and the item attribute level. The invention includes realistic models that simulate operations for a variety of process and discrete manufacturing work centers and departments. These models support reusable and auxiliary resources, resource groups, user-defined units of measure, detailed bills of material (BOMs), production rate models, and production method models. The sequencing invention can be integrated with other planning optimization systems, including planning and scheduling engines, to provide further shop floor optimization to productively drive the sequencing of a complex business.
