  • Publication number: 20030000391
Abstract: This invention relates to a nutritional beverage substantially free of chemical pesticides, antibiotics, added hormones, herbicides, genetically modified plants and chemical solvents that utilizes organic soy protein and organic brown rice syrup as major components. The soy protein is treated with an enzyme to dramatically reduce the non-digestible soy carbohydrates. The beverage preferably also contains water soluble vitamins, oil soluble vitamins, and flavors. The use of brown rice syrup, soy proteins and a special enzyme treatment in a preferred embodiment of the beverage provides a beverage with a smooth texture, a pleasant taste and a light, refreshing mouthfeel. The beverage also has excellent physical stability over shelf life.
