  • Patent number: 6454191
Abstract: An electromagnetic fuel injector comprises a body with a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet and a base that comprises a valve seat connected to the body. A moveable valve assembly comprising an armature and a valve outlet member is disposed at the fuel outlet for controlling the flow of fuel from the outlet. Positioned between the armature and valve outlet member is a dampening device that acts on the moveable valve assembly to reduce bounce of the valve outlet member at the valve seat. An electromagnetic fuel injector comprises a body with a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet and a base that comprises a valve seat connected to the body. A moveable valve assembly comprises an armature connected to a valve outlet member that includes a pintle and a ball element that is disposed at the fuel outlet to control the flow of fuel from the outlet. At least one spring, positioned between the armature and the valve outlet member, acts on the moveable valve assembly to reduce bounce of the valve outlet member at the valve seat.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 29, 2000
Date of Patent: September 24, 2002
    Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6328232
Abstract: An engine fuel injector (10) having a fuel inlet tube (12) and a biasing spring (56) loading a solenoid actuated injection valve (50) within the injector (10) is provided with a calibration assembly (58) combining the calibration member (74) or tube with an internally mounted fuel inlet filter (76). The calibration member (74) may include a body (78) with an enlarged end (88) that is interference fitted within the fuel inlet tube (12) and an opposite stepped in end (80) forming a seat (82) which is engaged by the biasing spring (56). The fuel filter (76) has an enlarged annular base (92) fixed within the enlarged end (88) of the calibration member (74) and having an associated filter screen (98) or element through which fuel passing through the calibration member is filtered for passage through the injector (10).

  • Patent number: 4011640
Abstract: An air jet nozzle to entangle the filaments of a continuous synthetic multifilament yarn or yarns by directing a jet of air substantially perpendicular to the running strand of yarn or yarns to be entangled. The yarn passes through an opening in the nozzle which has an upper curved surface to control the flow of air and to prevent dead air shots whereat the yarn will not be entangled.
