  • Patent number: 7562348
Abstract: A method and system for obtaining ATM device services utilizes a service provider framework in which data is received by an ATM application that indicates there is a need for the performance of an ATM device function. The ATM application issues a request to an XFS manager to get the ATM device service by making a sub-routine call to the XFS manager to get the ATM device service from a service provider. The XFS manager translates the sub-routine call as an entry point into the service provider for processing by the service provider, and a request object associated with the request is instantiated. The service provider is implemented by instantiating an instance of the service provider framework XFS service provider base class and one or more instances of the service provider framework request objects required to process the request. After processing the request, the service provider returns a result to the ATM application.

  • Patent number: 7502478
Abstract: A stereo headset interface that is compatible with mono for an audio playback device. A load in series between an audio output from a stereo headset driver and a ground of a mono headset plug prevents the audio output from being grounded when a mono headset plug is inserted into the stereo headset jack of the playback device. A second load in series between a second audio output and the mono headset plug balances the first and second audio outputs from the stereo headset driver.

  • Publication number: 20050147229
Abstract: A signal conditioning circuit is described which can facilitate dual mode use of a connector circuit, e.g., audio mode or data mode. In other words, a headset or alternatively, a data interface may be coupled to the connector circuit and signal conditioning circuit, depending on the mode of the device. In accordance with this disclosure, the signal conditioning circuit operates in audio mode without the need for conventional blocking capacitors in the speaker channels. Moreover, in some embodiments, the signal conditioning circuit also provides backwards compatibility with conventional connector circuits that include such blocking capacitors.

  • Patent number: 6848369
Abstract: A workstation and a power and telecommunication arrangement therefor which together define a work area and, more specifically, to an improved workstation which includes a console supported on a worksurface or table and housing one or more electrical power receptacles and/or communication receptacles and the cabling associated therewith, and an elongate and flexible raceway assembly which provides an enclosed conduit for feeding power and communication cabling into and out of the console and which is capable of distributing such cabling along a series of interconnected workstations.

  • Publication number: 20030063736
Abstract: A side-tone circuit comprises a microphone configured to generate a reverse link audio signal and a side-tone noise suppressor. The side tone noise suppressor is configured to receive the reverse link audio signal, suppress noise in the received reverse link audio signal, and output a noise suppressed side-tone signal. The side-tone noise circuit also includes a speaker configured to receive the noise suppressed audio signal and communicate it to a user.

  • Patent number: 6498453
Abstract: A method for controlling a two-phase stepping motor gauge for an instrument cluster includes the steps of: providing a two-phase motor for displaying information to a driver, determining a desired position of the two phase motor at a rate and in a manner consistent with an intended application; updating a waveform to the input of a first inverter coupled to one of the motor coils; integrating the waveform using a first and second inverter to energize one of the motor coils. Thus, the present invention allows the control of a conventional two-phase motor coil using only one control signal. Additionally, the present invention requires low actual current to maintain gauge position.

  • Patent number: 5686989
Abstract: A measuring device for determining average mass flux, penetration rate, and droplet size both spatially and temporarily in a spray pattern from a spray nozzle. The measuring device includes a movable mounting arrangement that securely positions a spray nozzle such that it can emit a spray pattern along a generally vertical axis. A collection means consisting of a series of collection tubes is positioned below the mounting arrangement such that the collection tubes collect a portion of the spray pattern emitted from the spray nozzle. Each collection tube includes a gas relief opening such that the spray droplets can freely enter the collection tubes. A shutter mechanism is movably positioned between the spray nozzle and the collection means. The shutter mechanism is operated in a timed relation to the pulsing of the injector, such that the shutter mechanism selectively isolates a portion of the spray pattern and the only isolated portion of the spray pattern reaches the collection tubes.

  • Patent number: 5201603
Abstract: A tow point for an asphalt paver, which allows the operator to: (1) select either a fixed or sliding tow point connection; and (2) select from among several possible locations of each, thereby adjusting the distance between the screed and transverse auger of the paver. Combination of these features in a single machine makes it possible to lay down an asphalt mat of uniformly desired thickness, while optimizing use of the aggregate batch particles.
