  • Patent number: 10903920
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to measuring cross-link interference in wireless communications. A portion of a slot that includes a downlink reference signal transmitted by a base station and an uplink reference signal transmitted by a user equipment (UE) can be determined, where the uplink reference signal and the downlink reference signal at least partially overlap within the portion of the slot. The downlink reference signal can be received from the base station and the uplink reference signal can be received from the UE in the portion of the slot. Cross-link interference between the downlink reference signal and the uplink reference signal can be measured.

  • Publication number: 20210007057
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a user equipment (UE) to set uplink power control for a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst. The UE receives uplink power control information including a first set of power control parameters for a long uplink burst and a second set of power control parameters for a short uplink burst with the sets of power control parameters being different from each other. The UE configures uplink power control for the long uplink burst based at least on the first set of power control parameters and the short uplink burst based at least on the second set of power control parameters. The UE sends at least one of a long uplink burst and a short uplink burst based on the corresponding uplink power control and sends at least one uplink power-headroom report for the long uplink burst and short uplink burst.

  • Patent number: 10880914
Abstract: The described techniques relate to techniques for determining transmission opportunities and utilization of uplink resources by a user equipment (UE) in communication with a base station. In some examples, a base station may transmit a slot configuration to a UE. The slot configuration may indicate the communication link direction (uplink, downlink, or flexible) associated with each symbol in a given slot. A dynamic slot configuration may indicate which of the flexible symbols are uplink symbols and which are downlink symbols and the UE may determine uplink transmission opportunities based on the slot configuration, the dynamic slot configuration, and a grant free uplink type associated with the UE. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station using the determined set of uplink transmission resources.

  • Patent number: 10880033
Abstract: A two stage scrambling design is provided for generating and decoding Resource Spread Multiple Access (RSMA) modulated streams. A User equipment (UE) scrambles each data stream of a set of data streams using a first scrambling sequence to generate a first set of scrambled data streams, and then scrambles the first set of scrambled data streams using a second scrambling sequence to generate a second set of scrambled data streams, wherein the second scrambling sequence is longer than the first scrambling sequence. The UE then transmits the second set of scrambled data streams. A receiving base station determines the first and second scrambling sequences used by the UE and decodes the transmissions received from the UE based on the determined scrambling sequences.

  • Publication number: 20200404604
Abstract: A configuration to allow a base station to be synchronized with an application server to enable the base station to align uplink transmissions of a UE with downlink reception periods of the UE. The base station communicates with a UE using periodic uplink traffic bursts and periodic downlink traffic bursts. The base station selects a time offset to at least one of uplink traffic or downlink traffic to increase an overlap between the uplink traffic bursts and the downlink traffic bursts. The base station sends the time offset to an AF.

  • Patent number: 10873967
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communication are disclosed. In one aspect, a base station multiplexes services on shared channel resources with preemption. The base station may send one or more control messages with multi-carrier preemption information to user equipment (UE) devices which may be affected by the preemption. The preemption information may relate to a primary component carrier and one or more secondary component carriers designated for the UEs. In some aspects, the control message may comprise an indication of the availability of preemption information for each carrier in a plurality of carriers and may also include variable-size preemption information which is identifiable to the plurality carriers based on the subset of carriers for which preemption information is indicated as available. UEs may adjust the manner in which they send or receive a data transmission based on the preemption information.

  • Patent number: 10873869
Abstract: Aspects directed towards a cell-specific configuration for sounding transmissions and measurements are disclosed. In one example, scheduled entities served by a scheduling entity are identified and a cell-specific sounding pattern configuration uniformly applicable to each of the scheduled entities is generated such that the cell-specific sounding pattern configuration has a different pattern than a cell-specific sounding pattern configuration associated with at least one other cell. The cell-specific sounding pattern configuration is then transmitted to each of the scheduled entities to facilitate an identification of cell-specific resources to use for at least one of a sounding transmission or a sounding measurement. In another example, a cell-specific sounding pattern configuration is received and cell-specific resources associated with the cell-specific sounding pattern configuration are identified.

  • Publication number: 20200389915
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described According to one or more aspects of the present disclosure, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant of an uplink transmission from the UE to the base station. The UE may identify a packet transmission mode indicated in the uplink grant. The indication may specify whether the UE is to transmit the uplink transmission using a default mode, such as a first-in first-out mode, or a packet-group transmission mode. The UE may determine packets for inclusion in a transmission payload for the uplink transmission based on the identified transmission mode and transmit the uplink transmission in accordance with the packet transmission mode and the uplink grant.

  • Publication number: 20200389933
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for configuring discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles within a DRX time period at a user equipment (UE). DRX configurations may provide that different DRX cycles have non-uniform cycle durations within the DRX time period. Such non-uniform cycle durations may provide DRX ON-durations that are aligned with a periodicity of downlink traffic to the UE in which the downlink traffic may be unaligned with timing boundaries used for wireless communications between the UE and a base station, such as slot boundaries or symbol boundaries.

  • Patent number: 10862722
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for concurrent reference signal transmissions using common resources, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS) transmissions, from a number of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmitters. Different transmitters may use different sequences for reference signal transmissions, which may allow a receiver, such as a wireless base station, to decode the reference signal transmissions for each NOMA transmitter and perform channel estimation for each NOMA transmitter. The reference signal transmissions may be asynchronous with a bounded timing offset or quasi-synchronous, and the reference signal sequence selection may provide for relatively reliable channel estimation and coherent demodulation.

  • Publication number: 20200383004
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for traffic burst awareness in wireless systems. An application function, such as via an application server, can determine one or more burst parameters associated with a traffic flow for at least one service. The application function can send the one or more burst parameters a network. The burst parameters may include a burst factor associated with a minimum bit rate for providing service coverage for the traffic flow and/or a burst spread. A core network and/or access network (AN) entity can obtain the burst parameters and utilize the burst factor for communicating with a user equipment (UE). The CN and/or AN may use the burst parameters for admission control, resource allocation, and/or setting sleep mode parameters.

  • Publication number: 20200374688
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) capable of supporting multiple antenna ports may determine that some combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously. The UE may make this determination by evaluating the relationships between the physical antennas and the transmit chains included in the UE. Upon determining that the combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously, the UE may send a message to a base station. The message may indicate whether two or more antenna ports can be used at the same time. The UE may communicate simultaneously over one or more antenna ports based on the scheduling information from the base station which takes into account the ability of the combination of antenna ports to be used concurrently.
