  • Publication number: 20220376845
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide improved repetition techniques for autonomous uplink transmissions. Configuration information may be provided from a base station to a user equipment (UE) for autonomous uplink transmissions, that may indicate initial resources for an initial uplink transmission slot and retransmission resources for a number of retransmissions. Time resources within the retransmission resources may be configured to provide enhanced reliability, such as by being configured in non-contiguous slots to avoid one or more other transmission channels. Time resources within slots may also be configured to prevent persistent collisions with autonomous uplink transmissions or retransmissions of two or more different UEs.

  • Patent number: 11503619
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device, such as a user equipment (UE), may receive, via a first control resource set (CORESET) of a plurality of CORESETs monitored by the UE, a first downlink grant that schedules a downlink data transmission to the UE. The UE may receive the downlink data transmission from a first transmission reception point (TRP) of a plurality of TRPs and transmit feedback information for the downlink data transmission to the first TRP based at least in part on the first TRP being associated with the first CORESET or the first downlink grant being received via the first CORESET.

  • Patent number: 11490354
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for positioning a user equipment (UE). In aspects, a listening node determines a first time of arrival (ToA) at the listening node of a first radio frequency (RF) signal sent by a transmission-reception point (TRP) to the UE, determines a second ToA at the listening node of a second RF signal sent by the UE to the TRP, determines a time difference between the first ToA and the second ToA, and enables a positioning entity to estimate a location of the UE based on the time difference. The positioning entity calculates a distance between the listening node and the UE based on the time difference, a propagation time between the TRP and the listening node, a propagation time between the TRP and the UE, and a time difference between a ToA of the first RF signal at the UE and a transmission time of the second RF signal.

  • Patent number: 11483853
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for identifying a file having a set of packets that are configured to be processed together. The base station may determine a segmentation scheme for the file based on a size of the file and identify a batch of assignments for communicating the file via a batch of transmissions based on the segmentation scheme. The base station may communicate the file via the batch of transmissions with a user equipment (UE) during the batch of assignments. Additional techniques are described herein for a UE to identify that the UE is storing a file in a buffer at the UE. The UE may transmit an indication to the base station that the buffer includes the file. In some cases, the UE may indicate a size of the file.

  • Patent number: 11468328
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for managing information transmission between a base station and a wireless device. A base station may apply an encoder neural network to assistance information that may aid a wireless device in communicating with the base station to generate encoded assistance information. The base station may transmit the encoded assistance information to the wireless device via a control or data channel. The wireless device may use the encoded assistance information to update one or more behaviors of the wireless device without decoding the encoded assistance information. The wireless device may include a different neural network configured to learn how to use the encoded assistance information to update one or more behaviors of the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20220312153
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits a first signal for positioning (RS-P) (e.g., SRS, etc.) on a first link from the UE to a wireless network node (e.g., BS, UE, etc.). The UE receives, from the wireless network node, location assistance data that comprises information that indicates a line of sight (LOS) condition associated with the first link. The UE measures a second RS-P on a second link from the wireless network node to the UE that is reciprocal to the first link. The UE performs one or more positioning measurements, determines a location estimate of the UE, or both, based in part on the reception of the second RS-P on the second link and the indicated LOS condition, the indicated LOS condition associated with the second link based on link reciprocity between the first and second links.

  • Patent number: 11452165
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for configuring discontinuous reception (DRX) cycles within a DRX time period at a user equipment (UE). DRX configurations may provide that different DRX cycles have non-uniform cycle durations within the DRX time period. Such non-uniform cycle durations may provide DRX ON-durations that are aligned with a periodicity of downlink traffic to the UE in which the downlink traffic may be unaligned with timing boundaries used for wireless communications between the UE and a base station, such as slot boundaries or symbol boundaries.

  • Patent number: 11445361
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) capable of supporting multiple antenna ports may determine that some combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously. The UE may make this determination by evaluating the relationships between the physical antennas and the transmit chains included in the UE. Upon determining that the combinations of antenna ports can be used simultaneously, the UE may send a message to a base station. The message may indicate whether two or more antenna ports can be used at the same time. The UE may communicate simultaneously over one or more antenna ports based on the scheduling information from the base station which takes into account the ability of the combination of antenna ports to be used concurrently.

  • Patent number: 11438862
Abstract: In a positioning session for a user equipment (UE), one or more base stations may receive and derive positioning measurements from uplink (UL) transmission from the UE that include a physical resource block (PRB) interlaced waveform based on at least one of interlaced physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource blocks, interlaced physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) RBs resource blocks, interlaced sounding reference signal (SRS), interlaced uplink (UL) positioning reference signal (PRS), or a combination thereof. The interlaced waveforms span a greater wavelength than if interlacing were not used, and an enhanced accuracy requirement for the positioning measurements based on the span may be used for the positioning measurements. The UL interlaced PRBs may be used for UL positioning measurements for combined downlink (DL) and UL positioning measurements.

  • Patent number: 11425746
Abstract: Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) generating a scheduling request (SR) for a set of data for an uplink transmission from the UE to a base station. The UE may determine whether the SR for the set of data is associated with a grant-free configuration for the UE. The grant-free configuration may indicate a set of time-frequency resources that the UE may use to transmit the set of data. The UE may transmit to the base station an indication of whether the SR is associated with the grant-free configuration. If the SR is associated with a grant-free configuration for the UE, the UE may use the corresponding resources to transmit the set of data to the base station, and the base station may then decode the data based on having received the indication of the resources by way of the grant-free configuration.
