    Abstract: A composition for administration to the nasal mucosa or as an oral inhalant comprises a molecule which is the reaction product of nicotine with two molecules of a sweetener such as acesulfamic acid. The resultant molecule of nicotine diacesulfamate in a pharmaceutically acceptable solvent offers an improved side effect profile as regards irritation and unpleasant taste for the subject using the composition.
