Patent number: 10825109Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer programs, for predicting a likely outcome for an entity. A method includes obtaining a first data structure that includes data that represents a transaction, determining a similarity level of the transaction to each of a plurality of categories, determining a transaction category based on the determined similarity level, generating an input data structure that includes data representing (i) at least a portion of the data representing the transaction, and (ii) data describing the determined category, providing the input data structure to a predictive algorithm trained to determine a value that represents a likely outcome for an entity that initiated a transaction, obtaining output generated by the predictive algorithm based on the predictive algorithm's processing of the input data structure, the output including a value that represents a likely outcome for the entity, and determining a likely outcome for the entity based on the obtained output.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2019Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: Laso, Inc.Inventors: Adam Cohen, Jay McLain, Jim Chonko, Eric Hexter

Publication number: 20140258993Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, an information handling system comprising may include a processor, a memory communicatively coupled to the processor and having stored thereon a program of instructions. The instructions may be configured to, when read and executed by the processor: (i) receive user interface elements of content for displaying a web site; (ii) receive parameters associated with a client device; and (iii) based on the parameters, generate an application comprising one or more instructions, the one or more instructions of the application for emulating the user interface elements on the client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2013Publication date: September 11, 2014Applicant: DELL PRODUCTS L.P.Inventors: Charla Kunkel, Jay McLain, Vidya Kuram

Patent number: 7362311Abstract: A system and method for small computing devices that present a single column of content such as a web page such that a user need only scroll vertically to see the content. A parser converts HTML to CSS as necessary, and a single column style sheet modifies content for a more-optimized viewing experience. To this end, tables and tables cells are rendered as blocks, with no padding/border/margins and any explicit widths and heights changed to automatic. Other table elements are rendered as block level elements, and horizontal margins are eliminated or re-enabled on some elements in a reduced manner. Spacer images are removed, as well as cell background images and small images. Content such as text is wrapped, and images are resized as necessary based on the screen display width. The result is a single content column that facilitates viewing and scrolling in only one direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2004Date of Patent: April 22, 2008Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Aaron Filner, Jay McLain, Andrew Dadi

Publication number: 20060277478Abstract: A determination is made as to when to display and hide obstructive user interface elements. Obstructive user interface elements are removed from the display when not needed by the user and displayed when needed by the user. When the obstructive interface elements are removed from the display, the user has more viewable area that is not obstructed. For example, in some browser applications, when the title bar, address bar and menu bar are removed, the user is provided with a view that shows much more of the web page. When the obstructive user interface elements are needed, they are temporarily displayed on the device. Once the task has been completed, the obstructive user elements are then hidden again automatically, which allows the user to continue viewing in full screen mode.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2005Publication date: December 7, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Seana Seraji, Aaron Filner, Jay McLain, Randal Ramig, Vinoo Cherian

Publication number: 20050210399Abstract: A system and method for small computing devices that present a thumbnail image of content such as a web page, allows a viewer to select a region, and zooms in on the selected region in a way that reduces scrolling and helps users to understand the content they are reading. The page is scaled such that a user need only scroll in one dimension to see the content, and is divided into regions. Regions may be arranged as cells of a grid, or arranged by logically-related content. A user navigates among the regions as desired, selects a region from the thumbnail view, and obtains an expanded version of that region. In the expanded view, the region is ordinarily scaled so that the user scrolls in only one dimension to view the content of the region. Browser “Back” commands are supported, as are frames.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2004Publication date: September 22, 2005Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventors: Aaron Filner, Jay McLain, Wei-Ying Ma
