Patent number: 12567083Abstract: A telecommunications product impact service can receive a report request including a request for a product impact report, the report request including data that identifies a product offered by a network. Based on the data that identifies the product offered by the network, product impact data that includes product overview data, customer data, and pricing data can be analyzed, and a report that includes data identifying an impact of a pricing change associated with the product can be generated and provided to a user device. Input that indicates an action to be taken with respect to the product based on the impact of the pricing change associated with the product can be received, and a command can be generated including instructions that, when executed by network management entities, cause the network management entities to take the action to mitigate the impact of the pricing change.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2024Date of Patent: March 3, 2026Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Jay Miller, Meredith Johnson, Carlos Garrett

Patent number: 12230256Abstract: An interactive voice response (IVR) system including iterative speech recognition with semantic interpretation is deployed to process an audio input in a manner that optimizes and conserves computing resources and facilitates low-latency discovery of start-of-speech events that can be used to support external processes such as barge-in operations. The IVR system can repeatedly receive an audio input at a speech processing component and apply an input-aware recognition process to the audio input. In response to generating a start-of-speech event, the IVR system can apply an input-unaware recognition process to the remaining audio input and determine a semantic meaning in relation to the relevant portion of the audio input.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2022Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: Verint Americas Inc.Inventors: Michael Levy, Jay Miller

Publication number: 20240055018Abstract: An interactive voice response (IVR) system including iterative speech recognition with semantic interpretation is deployed to determine when a user is finished speaking, thus saving them time and frustration. The IVR system can repeatedly receive an audio input representing a portion of human speech, transcribe the speech into text, and determine a semantic meaning of the text. If the semantic meaning corresponds to a valid input or response to the IVR system, then the IVR system can determine that the user input is complete and respond to the user after the user is silent for a predetermined time period. If the semantic meaning does not correspond to a valid input to the IVR system, the IVR system can determine that the user input is not complete and can wait for a second predetermined time period before determining that the user has finished speaking.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2022Publication date: February 15, 2024Inventors: Michael Levy, Jay Miller

Publication number: 20050165720Abstract: A modular assembly of software is configured to perform a particular function. The modular assembly includes a plurality of atoms. Each of the plurality of atoms is designed to execute a defined task. The modular assembly also includes a plurality of maps that invoke a portion of the plurality of atoms allowing for the execution of events that include a portion of the defined task. The modular assembly also includes a map engine that is in communication with each of the plurality of maps. The map engine coordinates an order and timing for the starting of each of the plurality of maps wherein the map engine modifies the order and the timing based on the inputs and variables received thereby before and during the operation of the plurality of maps. Each of the plurality of atoms are defined sets of code, e.g., objects. These atoms each include a design element classifying a type of executable, identifying inputs required to operate the executable and identifying a purpose of the atom.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2004Publication date: July 28, 2005Inventors: Thomas McKeown, Jason Randall, Jay Miller, Brian Matuszak, Venkata Klk Vadlamudi, Robert Markevics

Publication number: 20050068169Abstract: A system for monitoring the location of individuals, such as parolees, includes a wearable device worn by the individual and a portable device operatively coupled to the wearable device. The portable device is operatively coupled to a monitoring system through a wireless telephone network. The portable device transmits periodically encrypted location information as well as status information across the wireless network to the monitoring system. The monitoring system tracks the location of the individual and alerts the appropriate authorities when the individual violates a rule, such as a condition for parole. The portable device increases the time between transmissions when the individual is within a specified home location and reduces the time between transmissions when outside the specified location.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 15, 2004Publication date: March 31, 2005Inventors: Shuan Copley, Jay Miller, Mark Bellehumeur

Publication number: 20040098394Abstract: An intelligent data management utility is disposed between a storage system and a data source to automatically and transparently initiate appropriate data management operations without interfering with normal data flow between the data source and the storage system. According to one embodiment, the intelligent data management utility resides within a storage controller and includes a mechanism for intercepting events, such as file activity. Based upon the file activity (e.g., file creation, file open, file read, file write, file close, and the like), the intelligent data management utility invokes one or more appropriate data management applications using a tightly-coupled transport and policy store. The transport queries the policy store for actions to be performed and invokes the appropriate data management application or applications. Upon completion of the data management tasks, status is returned through the transport to the file system filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2003Publication date: May 20, 2004Inventors: Perry Wayde Merritt, Jay Miller, Dan Oister
