Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for efficient delivery of a package as part of a system of sorting and delivery of many packages. Bins at a depot are assigned a delivery route. The depot receives packages for trans-shipment. The depot sorts the packages into a bin associated with a delivery route associated with that package. The system automatically notifies the depot when a driver is approaching to coordinate having the bin ready for pick-up at the appropriate time. The driver's identity may be authenticated as part of the process.
