Abstract: The current invention relates to cell-cell interaction and in particular to cellular avidity. Provided are improved means and methods to study cell-cell interaction and characterizing cellular avidity. More in particular, the methods involve studying cell-cell interactions and applying forces in order to break cell-cell bonds in a controllable fashion. In particular, the current inventors provide for means and methods with which highly reliable and consistent cellular avidity experiments can be performed in a high-throughput fashion.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling users to pause interactive content, such as streamed exercise classes, and return to the classes without compromising their class performance statistics or metrics are described. For example, when a user decides to pause (e.g., they have to quickly handle something), they may have their rank removed from a leaderboard, with the leaderboard passing the ranking to the next user of the activity, while the user is still placed on the leaderboard according to an approximated position or ranking.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, devices, and the like for transaction processing using a smart device. In one embodiment, a system and method are introduced which enable the use of a third-party provider in conjunction with the smart device. The third-party provider can enable transaction processing and offloading, eliminating the need for processing via an application server. In another embodiment, a dynamic machine-readable code is further introduced for providing the communication between the third-party provider and the smart device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and compositions for biocatalyzed conversion of oleic acid to non-racemic (R)-10-hydroxystearic acid ((R)-10-HSA) are described herein. Some systems and methods may include mixing oleic acid, a buffer, and a surfactant to produce an emulsion. The emulsion may be mixed with recombinant enzyme produced by a transformed microorganism. The recombinant enzyme may biocatalytically convert oleic acid to (R)-10-HSA, which may be extracted from the emulsion via an organic solvent.

Abstract: A computing system and methods are provided for georeferencing stabilization. An exemplary method includes: obtaining a video stream capturing an area from a camera of a drone, where the video stream includes a plurality of frames, each including a field of view of the image capturing device and metadata of the image capturing device when the frame is captured; constructing a geographic (geo) lattice for the field of view in each of the plurality of frames, the geo lattice comprises a plurality of points, each being associated with raw coordinates determined based on the corresponding metadata; and building a lattice map with stabilized geo coordinates by (1) aligning the frames, (2) averaging the raw geo coordinates for given intersection points, and (3) building the lattice map based on the averaged geo coordinates of the intersection points.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a sampled leaderboard for display on a local exercise system include receiving a request from a local exercise system to start an on-demand class, delivering content for the on-demand class, downloading a leaderboard for the on-demand class including applying a filter to the leaderboard to generate a filtered leaderboard for a user of the local exercise system, determining whether the filtered leaderboard to be downloaded to the local system has a size less than a threshold value, generating a sampled leaderboard if the size of the filtered leaderboard to be downloaded is greater than the threshold value, wherein the sampled leaderboard is generated with a size less than the threshold value, and downloading the filtered leaderboard and/or the sampled leaderboard. An approximate rank for the user on a full leaderboard is determined and displayed to provide comparative performance results for the user.

Abstract: On-demand data is provided for real-time exercise experience including identifying available classes, receiving exercise class selection, retrieving associated leaderboard data, decompressing leaderboard data, and delivering exercise class content including leaderboard data to an exercise apparatus. Systems and methods further include receiving a class end condition, gathering data from the selected exercise class, compressing the gathered data, and appending the compressed data to stored leaderboard data. Compressing includes sampling a points from each user's workout through a recursive process including identifying a first point, last point and at least one mid-point of the workout, and for each successive pair of sampled points, identifying a mid-point that is furthest away from a line segment between the pair of sampled points, and adding the mid-point to the plurality of points if a distance between the mid-point and the line segment is greater than a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A system is disclosed. The system has a remediation module, comprising computer-executable code stored in non-volatile memory, a processor, a buyer device of a buyer, and a seller device of a seller. The remediation module, the processor, the buyer device, and the seller device are configured to receive asset data of the seller, receive exception rules of the buyer, determine exceptions of the asset data based on the exception rules, display the exceptions via at least one of the buyer device or the seller device, and update the asset data based on the displayed exceptions.

Abstract: In a first aspect, the present invention provides a motor, fan and filter arrangement for a vacuum cleaner, comprising: a motor (10); a fan (20) connected to an output shaft (12) of the motor and having an axial intake; and a filter (30, 230, 330); wherein the fan (20) is arranged with its axial intake facing the motor (10); and the motor (10) is housed within the filter (30, 230, 330). Such an arrangement makes much more efficient use of space than a conventional arrangement and allows the motor to be positioned within the filter in a reversed direction in comparison to conventional arrangements, so that clear air from the filter can be drawn over the motor before encountering the fan. This also has the beneficial side-effect of cooling the motor with the filtered air. In a second aspect, the present invention also provides vacuum cleaners (100, 200, 300) comprising such a motor, fan and filter arrangement.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for treating and drying a marine or submarine textile material to inhibit biofouling thereof. The invention further provides a marine or submarine textile material with antifouling properties obtained by the process of the invention, as well as the use of an antifouling formulation according to this invention for inhibiting the biofouling of marine and submarine textile materials.

Abstract: A soap dispenser can be configured to dispense an amount of liquid soap, for example, upon detecting the presence of an object. Certain embodiments of the dispenser include a housing, reservoir, pump, motor, sensor, electronic processor, and nozzle. In certain embodiments, the sensor can be configured to generate a signal based on a distance between an object and the sensor. In certain embodiments, the electronic processor can be configured to receive the signal from the sensor and to determine a dispensation volume of the liquid. The dispensation volume can vary as a function of the distance between the object and the sensor. The processor can be configured to control the motor to dispense approximately the dispensation volume of the liquid.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a receptacle assembly having receptacle body and a bag liner dispenser connected to the receptacle body. The bag liner dispenser has a biasing member, a magnet, and a sensor. The assembly can have an electronic control unit configured to communicate with the sensor and determine an estimated number of liner bags remaining in the bag liner dispenser at least in part based on one or more characteristics of a magnetic field emitted by the magnet. A network communication device can be connected to the electronic control unit and configured to provide information to a user about bag liners.

Abstract: There is provided a method that includes depositing a plurality of layers in a substrate including a pattern. The plurality of layers can form a stack that includes at least two different materials. The stack thus forms a composite layer which has an effective index of refraction that is unique. The method may make use of at least two different materials, which can be a combination of aluminum oxide (A12O3), Titanium Dioxide (TiO2), and silicon dioxide (SiO2). These materials may be deposited via atomic layer deposition (ALD).

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for utilizing global models to generate local models for electronic devices in an environment, and techniques for utilizing the global models and/or the local models to provide notifications that are based on anomalies detected within the environment. For instance, a remote system may receive an identifier associated with an electronic device and identify a global model using the identifier. The remote system may then receive data indicating state changes of the electronic device and use the data and the global model to generate a local model associated with the electronic device. Using the global model and/or local model, the remote system can identify anomalies associated with the electronic device and, in response to identifying an anomaly, notify the user. The remote system can further cause the electronic device to change states after receiving a request from the user.

Abstract: A wall magnet anchor system is used to install magnetic anchors in wall material that can be used to magnetically hold an object to the wall, thereby avoiding the need to a conventional hook that protrudes from the surface of the wall. The anchor can include a helical thread to hold the anchor in the wall. An installation tool includes a cutting features at one end for cutting a hole in a wall to receive an anchor, and an installation feature that engages the anchor and allows a user to drive the anchor, through rotation, into the hole cut by the cutting features.

Abstract: Systems and methods for intelligent device grouping are disclosed. An environment, such as a home, may have a number of voice-enabled devices and accessory devices that may be controlled by the voice-enabled devices. One or more models, such as linguistics model(s) and/or device affinity models may be utilized to determine which accessory devices are candidates for inclusion in a device group, and a recommendation for grouping the devices may be provided. Device-group naming recommendations may also be generated and may be sent to users.

Abstract: Methods and circuits for storing column redundancy data are provided herein. A circuit may comprise a column redundancy data array, which may store an address and a plurality of match bits. A first portion of bits of the address may reference a range of columns of a memory array and a second portion of bits of the address may reference a division of the memory array in which a column of the range of columns is located. Each of the match bits may indicate whether one of the columns of the range of columns is defective.
