  • Publication number: 20080280656
Abstract: A technique to use a power management unit (PMU) sequencer to control switching of a plurality of functional modules between two or more power modes. The PMU sequencer sequences through a hierarchical order of turn-on and turn-off sequences based on dependencies established for each of the functional modules. In addition to the dependencies, turn-on and turn-off delay times are established for each of the functional modules.

  • Patent number: 7035285
Abstract: A method and signal therfor embodied in a carrier wave for sending information from transmit stations to receive stations over a transmission medium of a frame-based communications network. The information is sent in transmit frames having a frame format comprising a fixed rate header, followed by a variable rate payload, followed by a fixed rate trailer. The fixed rate header includes a preamble. The preamble has a repetition of four symbol sequences for facilitating power estimation, gain control, baud frequency offset estimation, equalizer training, carrier sensing and collision detection. The preamble also includes a frame control field.

  • Publication number: 20050232218
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing multiple clock signals for a communication device, with the clock signals being generated to correspond to the operating mode of various core modules of the communication device. A clock generator is operable to generate a plurality of clock signals having performance characteristics corresponding to the operating mode of individual cores in the system. A clock management logic circuit is operable to receive a plurality of request signals from the core modules and to cause the clock generator to generate appropriate clock signals based on the requests and other information relating to the operating mode of the core modules.
