Abstract: Generally disclosed herein is a method for synthesizing low-voltage power flow in an electrical distribution system. The method may include connecting a generator to the electrical distribution system. The generator may include a voltage regulator and excitation system. The electrical distribution system may be shorted with a shunt. The output voltage of the generator may be manually set using the voltage regulator. The output current of the generator may be set using the excitation system. The generator may then generate a power flow with the set output voltage and the set output current. The power flow may be supplied to the electrical distribution system.

Abstract: An antenna mountable to a window to provide non-destructive installation and removal therefrom. The antenna has a substrate of dielectric material having a first surface with patterned conductive material providing a main radiator and ground plane, and a back surface of patterned conductive material providing a feeding circuit, which capacitively conveys and receives, via the substrate, RF signals with the main radiator and ground plane. The main radiator and ground plane, and preferably the feeding circuit, are each radiating structures to achieve different frequency ranges, such as over VHF, UHF, and cellular bands, with wideband performance. The antenna is configured to resemble a semitransparent sunshade by the antenna body being perforated, through the front and back thereof, with holes enabling a majority of the antenna body to appear semitransparent for screening sunlight. One or more fixtures are utilized for detachably mounting the antenna along a surface of a window.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a patient transfer system including obtaining an inflatable device, where the device includes a top sheet of material and a bottom sheet of material connected to the top sheet of material defining a cavity therebetween to be inflated. The device further includes a plurality of passages in the bottom sheet extending from the cavity to an exterior of the device, where the passages are configured to permit air to pass from the cavity to the exterior of the device. The device also including a plurality of inflation-limiting members connecting the top sheet and bottom sheet, and an input configured for receiving air to inflate the device. The method further includes providing an absorbent body pad with the inflatable device, the absorbent body pad configured to be positioned between the top sheet of material and a patient positioned on the inflatable device.

Abstract: A method of self-assigning an IP address to an item of pool or spa equipment can include randomly selecting, by the item of pool or spa equipment, an IP address from a predetermined IP address range. The method can also include transmitting, by the item of pool or spa equipment, the IP address and a serial number to a target parent node. Additionally, the method can include listening, by the item of pool or spa equipment, for a broadcast topology message from the target parent node. Further, the method can include determining, by the item of pool or spa equipment, that the IP address is valid based on the broadcast topology message and, upon determining that the IP address is valid, completing a startup process by the item of pool or spa equipment.

Abstract: Provided herein are various embodiments of an improved device for accurate measurement along a desired axis that is tolerant to off axis movement and other environmental factors. The measurement relies on a conversion from linear displacement of a tensile element in a pulley system which is monitored by a low power rotational encoder. The orientation and mechanical architecture of the device is set to reduce the impact of off-axis movement or forces on the measurement of interest. A computing unit determines the distance measurement by determining the state of rotation in the system in the context of the system's specific design, without the need to constantly monitor the sensor.

Abstract: Embodiments of a portable propulsion facilitation device and system for a marine vessel provide a rechargeable power source and a removable trolling motor mounting base securable to a marine vessel. In various embodiments, the power source employs rechargeable batteries that are secured within a cover. The device can include an access door that permits a user to access the power source when removal or replacement is necessary. The power source can be maintained within a housing of a trolling motor or one or more housings secured to the mounting base. In various embodiments, the mounting base is integrated with, or attachable to, one or more tubes, wherein the tube(s) can be secured and/or placed in a traditional fishing rod holder or other opening on the vessel. A trolling motor can be secured to the mounting base.

Abstract: According to one aspect, this disclosure describes a novel indirect weight sensing device, systems, and related processes. In at least one embodiment, the present systems include one or more springs with known properties, at least one metal plate on which the springs are fastened and through which the container load is transferred from the container to the ground, a spring deformation sensor by which spring deformation is reckoned, a digital level by which general orientation of the upper plate is determined relative to the ground, a computing unit to collect and process data from the spring deformation sensor and digital level, and an antenna or other such hardware to wirelessly connect to another device and interface with the computing unit.

Abstract: Techniques for improving a user video game experience are described. In an example, a computer system accesses videos showing separate completions of an activity by a plurality of video game players. From a definition of the activity, it is determined that the activity is a parent of sub-activities. Links to video portions of the videos are generated, wherein each video portion corresponds to a sub-activity. A score is generated for each video portion based on a relevance of each video portion to a user. The links are presented in a user interface to the user based on the score for each video portion, wherein upon selection of a first link, the user interface displays a first video to the user starting at a first video portion showing a completion of a sub-activity by a video game player.
