  • Patent number: 9131676
Abstract: The present improved animal trap and unique catch eliminates substantial eating or removal of the bait without the trap activating. This is accomplished by an improved catch which supports a piece of bait, and in turn, the bait blocks the movement of the holding arm bar. Only upon disturbance of the bait, will the holding arm bar be permitted to release from the catch due to the bait no longer blocking the movement of the holding arm bar. One embodiment accomplishes this action through a bait gap formed in the catch. The holding arm bar is aligned with the bait gap, such that the holding arm bar should pass through the bait gap in order for the pivoting kill bar hammer to snap closed against the top surface of the platform.

  • Patent number: 8935943
Abstract: A securement device is provided to secure a portable item from unauthorized movement or theft. A first bracket engages a first portion of the item, second bracket engages a second portion of the item, and an elongated member spans the portable item to attach the first bracket to the second bracket to prevent significant separation of the first and second brackets when in the secured configuration. An aperture or recess in the second bracket receives a plug or attached device, where the plug or attached device is plugged into a receptacle in the item. When the attached device or plug is situated within the aperture or recess in the first bracket and the first bracket is engaged to the item, the first bracket is prevented from lateral and rotational movement relative to the item. A lock may be attached to the securement device to secure the item to an anchor.

  • Patent number: 8899080
Abstract: A system for securing an item is disclosed. The system may include a length of flexible cable, a connector, and a lock. The connector may selectively connect a first portion of the cable and a second portion of the cable to form a loop in the cable. The connector may comprise a base comprising a first aperture containing the first portion of the cable and a corner. The connector may further comprise a blocker. The blocker may occupy a blocking position wherein the blocker cooperates with the base to maintain the second portion bent around the corner. The lock may selectively secure the blocker with respect to the base and maintain the blocker in the blocking position.

  • Patent number: 8726703
Abstract: A system for securing an item to an anchor is disclosed. The system may include a first extension extending from an item, an interface mechanism connected to the first extension, and a lock. The interface mechanism may include a cylindrical base, a sleeve, and a second extension. The cylindrical base may comprise an extension aperture receiving the first extension therewithin. The slide may surround at least a portion of the cylindrical base and occupy a blocking position locking the first extension within the extension aperture. The second extension may extend from the slide and comprise a traveler occupying a locking position locking the slide in the blocking position. The lock may engage the second extension and lock the traveler in the locking position.

  • Patent number: 8720097
Abstract: A trigger lock is provided with a shield member having a U-shaped channel forming a first plate and a second plate spaced apart from the first flange, with a web connecting the first and second plates. The shield member has a peripheral contour that is complementarily shaped to closely match the transition contour of a firearm, in the region of the firearm frame transitioning between the thick frame and the thin trigger guard. The shield member is fitted over the trigger guard, with the trigger guard situated within the U-shaped channel. A plug is inserted through an aperture in the first plate, through the trigger guard, and through a second aperture in the second plate. The plug is secured within the shield member by a lock attached to the end of the plug protruding from the second aperture, thus preventing access to the trigger and preventing removal or substantial movement.

  • Patent number: 6793081
Abstract: A locking neck ring device that is placed over a capped bottle or container and grips the bottle neck ring, and together with a padlock or other securing means, prevents access to the bottle cap. The locking device comprises a clamp member that jackets a capped bottle neck; a cover which fits over the clamp member causing it to clamp on to the neck below the neck ring, and means to hold the clamp member to the cover. Provision is made for attaching a padlock or other securing means which holds the locking ring device in place. The bottle or container cap can then not be accessed for removal. The device is applicable to all sizes of drug containers, wine and liquor bottles for effectively locking access to the container contents.

  • Patent number: 6668608
Abstract: A dual-sided key ring holder that allows a key ring to be released from one end. The device uses a real or equivalent shell casing, and a real or equivalent shaped bullet member that fits in the mouth of the shell casing. The bullet member includes a hole in the nose for fastening a key ring thereto. A spring-loaded piston which is disposed inside the shell casing, normally acts on the bullet member to retain the bullet member in the casing. The piston includes a rigid tab which projects from the head of the shell casing and may be manually pulled to release the bullet member with a key ring from the casing. Provision is also made for fastening a key ring to the tab.

  • Patent number: 6227502
Abstract: A gripper device made of rigid material and having only two members. The two members are basically shaped alike, each having a single, longitudinal axis edge that faces and interlocks slidingly with the other. One of the members has a number of cord or cable retaining cut-outs cut through an axis perpendicular to the sliding axis of the facing members. Provision is made for preventing the relative sliding of the members when cords or cables are being retained by the device, which can be secured by a single lock. The gripper device is small, easy to use and economic to produce.

  • Patent number: 6167734
Abstract: A coupler device for securing an additional wire rope cable without a lock to a wire rope cable with a lock on one end. The coupler includes an internal planar cavity and cavity openings that are sized and arranged to allow a first cable without a locked end to pass through the cavity and allow a second cable having a loop end and a distal locked end to pass its loop end through the device in a direction orthogonal to the plane of the cavity, resulting in the second cable crossing above and adjacent to the first cable, preventing its removal from the coupler. The coupler devices present a simple method of coupling and securing to each other a variety of cable configurations, including securing a cable to a shaft or padlock.
